The mention of the court of law is definitely important to remember, though i'm not sure that it's framed correctly. Convictions in the US based on lackluster evidence (such as facial figure, misleading fingerprint evidence, etc.) is on the rise. According to Dr. Jon Gould, convictions based on incorrect/misapplied evidence are prevalent in the justice system, leading to innocent people being put behind bars. Thus, the framing around Mangione's innocence/guilt being truly determined by a court of law implies that the court will truthfully ascertain truth, when in reality it doesn't always.
