This is true, the EU has made extreme contributions to Ukraine. They have made these contributions to support the country in defending itself from the ongoing attack they are under from Russia. On January 15, of 2025, an article was uploaded to the European External Action Service, this states that since the beginning of the Russia V Ukraine war, the EU and other allies have made contributions upwards of USD 145 billion, which directly converts to about 141,897,000,000 Euros. So, the claim that the EU has donated billions of Euros to Ukraine is correct. The claim never stated a period or context behind it, so yes, the claim is factual. Here is the link to the article and facts below: European External Action Service. (n.d.). EU assistance to Ukraine in US dollars. The EU has indeed payed billions of euros to Ukraine in fact the European Union official website describes it as unprecedented funding and support to Ukraine in both military and humanitarian efforts. Converted to USD for easier comprehension for American readers the union has paid over 174 billion dollars to Ukraine since the start of their war with Russia. Because the EU is a governmental agency they have to make their budget public so all records of the funds that are going out to Ukraine from the EU are exact and confirmed because it is required to be so. Additionally it was stated that the EU is looking to bring Ukraine into the union to further protect it from any future Russian threats. Therefore cementing this claims truthfulness and eliminating any bias from this heated topic.

I like the fact check that you performed, I like that you listed both the USD and the direct translation to Euros. I also like how you cited the source within your fact check, "An article published to the European External Action Service website on January 15, 2025". Overall I think that your fact check is short and quick, but overall is extremely efficient.

The claim that the EU has sent billions to Ukraine is true. There is a public website that lays everything out and shows us how much is being sent. In 2024 the EU sent the first 1.6 billion to Ukraine. This money came from immobilized Russian assets but is still funds being sent to the country giving this headline a truthful narrative.

In fact, the headline doesn't do itself enough justice. In 2024, European leaders vowed to commit 54 billion dollars to Ukraine and its efforts to rebuild and revitalize it self.

While this post doesn't directly talk about what the EU has provided money for, or have a reliable source as it's just from a social media platform. It is true, the EU, as of December 9th, 2024 approved the planned payment of 4.2 billion Euros. As stated in an article from Reuters, the money will go towards EU's Ukraine facilities, and will help Ukraines economy as it continues to fight against Russia. From an article by us news, it states that the EU has provided more aid than anyone else at a staggering $93 billion in USD, followed by the military value of the US which is valued at $75 billion USD. In that same article it also states that the global aid for Ukraine was at 253 billion Euros or $278 billion USD.

This claim is true. The European Union has pledged to support Ukraine openly in their war effort against Russia for quite some time now. They’ve provided Ukraine not only with monetary support but also with munitions. In fact, It’s possible that The European Union may want to increase their contribution to Ukraine due to the fact President Trump is likely to want to reduce or even stop US funding to Ukraine.

European countries have paid billions of euros to Ukraine over past few years since Russian-Ukrainian conflict. The article on Reuters, confirms that in December 2024, European countries approved another payment of 4.2 billion euros to Ukraine.

On the other hand, in February year ago, European Union countries agreed for 50 billion euros support package "despite weeks of threats from Hungary to veto the move." According to NBC, the financial support is important part of strengthening the economic stability that can help Ukraine in gaining the financial independence.

After looking at credible sources its clear that the European Union had provided Ukraine with significant support with money, aswell as military support which adds up to billions of euros. Since 2014 The EU has allocated more than 17 billion in aid to them which also includes the grants they gave them and loans.Military assistance and aid was also given to them and in 2024 they were able to add additional funding to support them to further aid there military and ongoing conflict.

the sources ive used to help my credible writing is

Council of the European Union. Military Support to Ukraine. European Union, 2025, www.consilium.europa.eu/en/policies/military-support-ukraine/. Accessed 12 Mar. 2025.

in this article it says "Together with the military support provided by EU member states, the overall EU support for the Ukrainian army is estimated at €49.2 billion" Which is up to date on what currently is happening.
