Hayao Miyazaki despises AI, and Studio Ghibli’s rep issued a cease and desist to OpenAI, hoping for a lawsuit.

---

Pra quem tá usando essa trend de IA, saiba q o Miyazaki ABOMINA o uso de IA e felizmente o próprio representante do estúdio já pediu um Cease and desist da OpenAI. Tomara q eles não parem e tomem um processo milionário.

Yes, Studio Ghibli's relationship with AI isn't a happy one, according to Geek Wire, after the AI filter that became popular for turning photos into AI photos into Studio Ghibli's style, Miyazaki finally came out with a response saying AI is "an insult to life itself." But since then, Financial Express made an article giving a rundown discussing that Miyazaki hasn't made a cease and desist letter to OpenAI but instead fake ones have been made and posted to social media in response to Studio Ghibli's open hatred of AI, along with fake copyright warnings to people trying to make apps surrounding AI using Studio Ghibli's image.

Utilizing two articles that connect to the topic of choice is always a plus. Allowing yourself to quote words from an article does strengthen your argument but I would suggest to analyze it more, as it allows us to gain a perspective into your thinking and it'll further strengthen your claim on why the original post is misleading.

Thank you for debunking this! I was hearing from multiple sources that Miyazaki dislikes AI, and especially the filter trying to recreate his art. I didn't that people would go as far as creating fake cease and desist letters.

Your fact check does a great job of addressing the key issue—how fake cease-and-desist letters and copyright warnings have been circulating in response to Studio Ghibli's stance on AI. It's helpful to clarify the difference between Miyazaki's personal comments on AI and the misinformation that has spread about Studio Ghibli taking legal action. The way you distinguish between the genuine concerns raised by Miyazaki and the viral fake documents is very important for ensuring readers get an accurate understanding of the situation.

Coming from an interview of Miyazaki, it is very clear he hates AI. Thank you for clearing this up. Stating that they have been sending out fake copyright warnings makes a lot more sense in my head. I was wondering where this claim was coming from.
