This statement is false, there are many reasons as to why the Pope had passed, and JD Vance visiting prior has nothing to do with the death of the pope. His death was identified due to a stroke, which had then been followed by a coma and an irreversible cardiocirculatory collapse.  Another factor had been his health history, as he had a history of respiratory failure that had been caused by high blood pressure, multimicrobial bilateral pneumonia, bronchitis, and Type 2 diabetes. Lastly, another factor that had lead to his death had been his age, being 88 and already old in age, was just another reason contributing to his death.

This is false. The Vatican News posted shortly after the Pope's death yesterday that "The cause of Pope Francis' death has been identified as a stroke, followed by a coma and irreversible cardiocirculatory collapse." This diagnosis came out in an official report issued by "The Director of the Directorate of Health and Hygiene of the Vatican City State, Dr. Andrea Arcangeli". The diagnosis was confirmed by an electrocardiographic thanatography which is a way of measuring a heart's electrical activity in order to confirm that someone's heart has fully stopped working.

This false is entirely not true. This claim has no evidence and is simply false. The cause of death of the Pope was released to be a cerebral stroke that put him into a coma and later suffered from heart failure. The Directorate of Health confirmed this diagnosis and continues to state that he had a history of health conditions. Prior to meeting with JD Vance the Pope suffered from a chronic lung disease. He had many complications with this and it is clear that there is no correlation between JD Vance and the death of the Pope. Although JD Vance was one of the last interactions the Pope had, there is no evidence that JD Vance killed the Pope.

The claim that U.S. Vice President JD Vance killed Pope Francis is entirely false and lacks any factual basis. According to the Vatican's official medical report, Pope Francis died on April 21, 2025, at the age of 88, due to a cerebral stroke that led to a coma and irreversible cardiocirculatory collapse. While Vice President Vance did meet briefly with the Pope on Easter Sunday, April 20, to exchange greetings, there is no evidence suggesting any connection between their meeting and the Pope's death. Vance himself acknowledged the timing as "pretty crazy" but noted that the Pope was "obviously very ill" during their encounter. The notion that Vance was responsible for the Pope's death appears to stem from satirical commentary, not from any credible source.

This Claim is false. According to the Vatican's official news platform, Pope Francis' cause of death was "due to stroke and irreversible cardiocirculatory collapse." The user "lilypetz" is not a credible source, and cannot be identified as any known journalist or media personality. Although the Pope died within 24 hours of meeting with VP JD Vance, Pope Francis had a history of health issues before the meeting. You can find a timeline of those here.

According to the official Vatican news outlet, the Pope's death occurred due to a stroke and irreversible cardiocirculatory collapse. The Pope had been suffering from this ailment long before JD Vance and the Pope had met.

This claim is proven false. This is because there is no evidence stating that JD Vance killed the Pope. The first piece of evidence to prove this claim wrong is from an article by AP by Chris Megerian. The article states, "The Vice President and the Cardinal discussed their shared religions, faith, Catholicism in the United States, and President Trump's commitment to restoring world peace" (AP). This shows that JD Vance and the Pope met to talk only about religious beliefs and nothing more, just conversing with each other. How the Pope died is discussed in an article from CBS News by Tucker Reals, Haley Ott, and Paula Cohen. In the article, it states, "The Vatican said he died of a cerebral stroke and heart failure" (CBS News). This shows that JD Vance had no role in the Pope's death and that he died of old age, but also of natural causes. Proving the claim that JD Vance killed the Pope false.

This claim is false. Although Vice President JD Vance did meet with Pope Francis the day before his unfortunate passing, there is no evidence that gives this claim reason. The Vatican announced that the cause of death was a stroke followed by heart failure, and the pope's death was announced “with deep sorrow” by Cardinal Kevin Farrell, the Vatican camerlengo, who said Francis died at 7:35 a.m local time (1:35 a.m. ET). Vance also acknowledged the pope to be in bad health leading up to their meeting. Following his visit to The Vatican, Vance shared his thoughts on social media. “I just learned of the passing of Pope Francis. My heart goes out to the millions of Christians all over the world who loved him,” he wrote on X. “I was happy to see him yesterday, though he was obviously very ill.”(AP News). Sky News also discusses Francis's health issues throughout life and leading up to his passing.

This is a false claim. Vatican News reported that Pope Francis died of a stroke, which led to a coma and ultimately irreversible cardiocirculatory collapse, according to Dr. Andrea Arcangeli, Director of the Directorate of Health. While JD Vance was seen with the Pope shortly before his passing, it was already publicly known that the Pope had been dealing with serious health issues. Today.com also provided a timeline outlining the Pope’s medical conditions prior to his meeting with Vance.

This claim is False. According to the Vatican, Francis died at 7:35 am on Monday at his residence. His death was identified as being caused by health issues. The Vatican stated, "He has a stroke, which is you have little too little blood supply to the brain. This can cause death in a number of ways, including shutting down the ability- the centers in the brain that allow you to breathe normally, and even the centers that allow the heart to work correctly". The Pope was also prone to respiratory illness, a side effect of having one part of his lung removed when he was younger. There is no evidence that JD Vance killed the pope. Vance met with the Pope and was among one of the last people to before his death. There is no indication that he killed him, and he was grateful he was able to meet him before his passing.
