This article states that: Sweden, once hailed as a beacon of safety and “progressive utopia” of Europe, is now facing a grim and unthinkable reality: its murder rate has climbed higher than that of El Salvador, long infamous for gang violence, and a nation that, until recently, was considered one of the most dangerous places on Earth.

The shocking revelation, confirmed by multiple sources, highlights the catastrophic consequences of decades of open-border, globalist immigration policies championed by Sweden’s out-of-touch left-liberal establishment.

According to data from early 2025, Sweden has a murder rate 50% higher than El Salvador

Additionally - In January, Stockholm was rocked by 32 bombings, a brutal indication of how deeply embedded organized criminal networks have become in Swedish society. The violence isn’t isolated either—it’s spreading from no-go zones in major cities to the country’s quieter suburbs and towns.

Tragically, Sweden, once one of the safest and most peaceful countries in the world, is being eaten alive from the inside out by violent criminal networks that globalist politicians have imported under the guise of “compassion” and “diversity.”

The consequences of these policies aren’t just statistical—they’re deeply personal for many Swedes. A new national survey revealed that more than half of Sweden’s aging population no longer sees a future in their homeland. Fifty-one percent of Swedes approaching retirement now say they want to move abroad. And why? Among the top reasons: to escape the migrant gang violence ravaging their cities.

Sweden is a warning to the rest of the West: if you open the floodgates to mass migration without assimilation, without borders, without sanity, you don’t get a multicultural paradise. You get chaos.

When I searched the title, I couldn't find any reliable sources that covered this topic. I also researched the Swedish media site linked in the article and it has a reputation of being untrustworthy.

After looking into this claim, I found multiple resources that showed that El Salvador still has a higher homicide rate than Sweden. After looking into the website that originally posted the claim, I found that it is a Swedish right wing news website known for its anti-immigration stance and nationalist perspective. After knowing that, I would not trust this source 100% since it is biased and has a strong political stance.

I found other reputable websites such as Statista and AP news to find statistics and the  number of homicides in both countries. In 2024, Sweden had 92 murders and El Salvador had 114, which was a record low. That number for Sweden was the lowest rate the have seen in a decade. There were no other claims that I saw stating that El Salvador had a higher rate, so I believe that the original claim is false and that website is not trusted.

What are your sources for this fact check? I agree with your statement of this claim being false because after doing my research I found that El Salvador's homicide rate is far higher than Swedens. Even in the past few years when El Salvador's has been decreasing it is still higher than Sweden's. Below I included my sources for both countries' murder rates.

I agree with you that the claim that Sweedon's murder rate has surpassed El Salvador's is false. You provided sufficient evidence to prove the claim false. Your statistics from the AP news show that the number of murders in each country in 2024 proves the claim false. El Salvador had 114 while Sweden only had 92 murders.

This could use much harder data, since Sweden's murder rate is still much lower than El Salvador's, according to UN and World Bank Stats.

What's your source? If UN and World Bank, could you provide links and further elaborate on your fact-check? A solid fact-check includes more information, evidence, stats or expert quotes. Thanks!
