This claim is false. This claim can be controversial due to political view, but there's been numeral reports of American citizens being deported. On April 22nd, a little girl, an American citizen, was deported to Honduras alongside her mother and sister who were undocumented. On February 3rd, a 10 year old cancer patient was detained by ICE with her parents who were undocumented, but her siblings were citizens as well. They were transferred to a detention center and then deported to Mexico the next day. These are only some of the cases of American citizens being detained and deported. To extend it even more, the Trump administration said that it is actively trying to explore a proposal to detain U.S citizens and send them to the prison in El Salvador, deeming for only "homegrown criminals".

This statement is a false claim made by someone’s personal blue sky social media account. Multiple sources including cnn have stated that on April 26 2025 a 2 year old us Citizen was deported. https://www.cnn.com/2025/04/17/us/lopez-gomez-citizen-detained-ice-florida

This source states that incidents in the past have indeed happened that have resulted in the deportation of us citizens. https://usafacts.org/answers/how-many-people-were-deported-from-the-us/country/united-states/

The claim that "no Americans have been deported" is false. This is a very broad claim from a post by the user buzzstryker.bsky.social. Taking a look at this person's account, we see that it is a personal account which isn't affiliated with any news outlets or other organizations. There is no other information in their post. After a quick search online, an article on CNN contradicts this claim. According to the article: "At least a dozen children who are U.S. citizens were deported to Honduras over the past two years after being mistakenly identified as undocumented migrants. Other sources also confirm that ICE has wrongfully deported citizens in the past. Tracing the original claim, there are no sources online that make the same claim, which confirms this claim by buzzstryker.bsky.social could have been a personal opinion. In conclusion, this claim is false. American citizens have been deported as recent as this year. These deportations are mostly because of citizen status errors and identity mix ups.

This claim is largely false. The first signal of this is the fact that the source the author pulls from is a post from the "buzzfly" app, similar to X. The post is from a single user and not a news source. Further, Americans have been deported under the Trump Administration. According to PBS on April 27, 2025, ICE deported the Cuban-born mother of a 1-year-old girl, separating them indefinitely, and three children ages 2, 4 and 7 who are U.S. citizens along with their Honduran-born mothers. These citizens, along with many others, are having their rights infringed upon due to their family lineage. The American-born children were forced to a country that is not their home.

This claim comes from an account on BlueSky, a social media platform kind of like Twitter. This source is unreliable. The claim is super vague because it doesn’t give a timeframe or explain what “Americans” even means. Are they talking about American citizens, or just people living in the U.S.? But based on current conversations online, I’m assuming they’re referring to deportations under the Trump administration and recent immigration news. According to CNN, the idea that no Americans are being deported just isn’t true. They reported that two U.S. citizen kids were sent back to Honduras along with their mothers, even though the moms didn’t want them to leave the country. One of the kids is only 4 years old and was still getting cancer treatment in the U.S. The family’s lawyer told CNN that neither mother was given a real choice, they were basically forced into it. The National Immigration Project (nipnlg.org) also pushed back on the claim that these deportations were voluntary. They explain how ICE told the moms to show up for something described as a “family wellness check,” but instead, the families were suddenly detained and deported without proper legal process. The site says clearly: “DHS’s claim that these families were offered a clear, voluntary choice is demonstrably false.” The claim that “no Americans have been deported” doesn’t hold up when you look at the facts.

False, According to https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/ice-deported-3-children-who-are-u-s-citizens-their-families-lawyers-say

Children Deported with Their Mothers: Several reports indicate that U.S. citizen children have been deported alongside their undocumented parents. In one case, a 4-year-old boy with cancer and his 7-year-old sibling were deported to Honduras with their mother, despite concerns about due process. Another case involved a 2-year-old girl, also a U.S. citizen, who was deported under similar circumstances. Wrongful Detentions: Some American citizens have been detained by immigration authorities despite presenting proof of their citizenship. A man in Chicago was detained after dining at a restaurant, even though he had his Social Security card with him. Another case involved a Virginia man whose vehicle was surrounded by armed immigration officials due to mistaken identity. Families Separated at Border Checkpoints: A 10-year-old U.S. citizen was detained along with her family at a Border Patrol checkpoint in Texas while they were rushing her to the hospital. The family was later deported to Mexico, where they now live in hiding. Legal Challenges and Court Cases: Some deportations have led to legal battles. A federal judge ruled that deporting a 2-year-old U.S. citizen was unconstitutional, citing concerns about due process. Advocacy groups have raised alarms about the increasing number of wrongful deportations and detentions

This claim is simply false. While the action of deporting U.S citizens is illegal it still happens due to administrative and systemic errors. In fact in April of 2025 many U.S citizen children were deported, including a 4 year old with cancer. They were deported to Honduras with their mother due to her non existent U.S citizenship.

Claim: No Americans have been deported

The claim no Americans have been deported originated from Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem in an oversight hearing. She serves under President Trump's cabinet, meaning she may have some bias when it comes to deportation. This claim was stated in a live showing of Noem speaking in Washington, DC broadcasted on CNN. An article posted by CNN on April 30th, 2025 states that 3 American citizen children, including one with cancer, were deported with their mothers. This claim is false, and originally stated by the Trump Administration.

By the context of this post and what the user is replying to, this is in reference to the Trump administrations mass deportations. Despite government claims, there have been documented instances where US citizens have been detained by ICE and in some cases have been deported. For example, there was a report regarding 2 children born in the US with birth certificates, being deported with their mother who was undocumented. This specific case has more nuance, as it appears there was an attempt to possibly keep the children with legal custodians, but was denied. Another case involved a US citizen from Georgia was detained for 30 hours despite proving his citizenship in court. There is good reason to believe there are more cases of this, but there are proven cases in which US citizens were deported.

This claim is false.

This claim is false. First, the source that is given is not credible. This is because the author has no credibility and there is evidence or reasoning when looking at the source given. The claim is broad as well making it not a strong source.

Looking into this claim, there are many articles that show it is false. NPR stated in an article that, “a 2-year-old American citizen appears to have been deported”. In another case, three siblings were separated from their mother, and then they were all deported. One of the children that has been deported also has cancer and is not able to take their medication even though he is a US citizen. In these cases, the children are U.S. citizens and the mother or father is not, which I think is where the confusion is. Even just doing surface level research, it can be found that there are U.S. citizens who are getting deported. Both of these articles contradict the original claim that “No Americans have been deported”.
