This is false. Firstly, Anna Wintour did not post this video. It was originally uploaded by tiktok account kiu1384934c, although they have since taken it down. Both the original poster and the reuploader Meidas_Charise Lee on X have no credentials implying any reliability. The tiktok account specifically seems to upload entirely clickbait celebrity content, of which the majority is most likely AI-generated. Secondly, the video itself is a deepfake, using footage from an unrelated Anna Wintour interview on Vogue and an AI-generated voiceover. Anna Wintour did in fact state she would never invite Donald Trump back to the Met Gala on The Late Late Show with James Corden in 2016, but she has never elaborated on why and has not made any statements about this particular video in circulation.

I am glad you included the link to the interview the clip was taking from because people are easily influence by whatever is posted on TikTok. I also think including the original TikTok post is important that way people can compare the two clips of the truth and of the false narrative presented.

This is a great fact check because it clearly explains how a claim can be false. It is just as important to know if your claim is true as if it is false. I like how you added many sources to back up your argument.

This is a very good example of fact checking because it traces the video's origin to a suspicious TikTok account, explains why it's a deepfake by identifying the original Vogue footage and AI generated voice, and clearly separates fact from fiction. You don't just say "this is fake"--you prove it by showing how the video was constructed and contrasts it with Wintour's actual 2016 statement on James Corden's show. giving readers a complete picture of what's real and what's manufactured.

This post claims that Anna Wintour, the lead chairperson of the Met Gala, posted a video explaining why she banned Donald Trump from the event. In the linked video, a user on X reposts a TikTok video where it appears that Wintour does make these claims via an interview. Despite this, when searching for more information about where the "interview" took place, multiple sources claim that the user on Tik Tok, @kiu1384934c, deep-faked (digitally altered) the video completely (Yahoo). The video has since been removed from the original Tik Tok account, further suggesting its lack of credibility. The interview footage is actually altered from a video published by Vogue in 2019 where Wintour never mentions anything about Trump (Vogue).

Although this claim and reposted video are fake, Trump is likely banned from this years' Met Gala. On the The Late Late Show with James Corden in 2017, Corden asked Wintour in a game of Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts who is someone she will never invite back to the Met Gala. In quick response she says Donald Trump to which the crowd loudly applauses (YouTube 5:50). This is likely in response to his political presence as Trump was a regular attendee to the Met Gala up until 2012.

Although the video is clearly deep-faked, the artificial Wintour's statements could be likely true to what she actually thinks (My personal speculation). I only include this since I believe that's what is making this video believable to some. Overall the original claim is completely false -- Wintour a) never posted this video and b) the video is an artificially edited interview.

I like that you backed up this claim with the truths behind the Tik Tok and misinformation. People are easily influenced with titles that seem like they could be true. You did a good job with your evidence through both Facebook, YouTube, and Tik Tok making sure this statement wasn't taken out of context.

Your research to find whether this claim was true or false seems really well done. I like that you included what account actually created the altered video, but also included why people may believe it to be true. I also appreciate that when you put in your own opinion you made it obvious it was an opinion and not a fact.
