This post appears to be a satirical reframing of actions Trump took, casting Obama as the subject to highlight how public, media, and political reactions would differ. It comes from the account of Ben Collins, CEO of the well-known satire site The Onion.
We can confirm this interpretation by noting that Trump did these things, while Obama did not.
First, there’s no record of Obama receiving a plane from Qatar in 2015. There is no reporting on such an event during that time that I can find, and the U.S. State Department’s 2015 list of gifts from foreign governments (now archived on the Wayback Machine) does not include any such aircraft.
By contrast, Reuters reports that in 2025, the U.S. accepted a Boeing 747 from Qatar for use as Air Force One, though it appears the deal isn't quite finalized. While the aircraft isn’t officially a personal gift to Trump, it may eventually be displayed in his presidential library after his term ends.
Finally, on June 14 (also Trump’s birthday), the Army’s 250th‑anniversary military parade prominently featured him. It’s a stretch to say networks televised the parade “in his honor,” but Trump was central to the event. NPR notes, “After his speech, Trump was presented with a traditionally folded American flag—a gift usually reserved for the family members of fallen soldiers.”
In this case, the claim itself is false, but it comes from a satirical source.
