There is no available information to indicate that Zohran Mamdani gave a Hitler salute. On June 24, 2025, Mamdani defeated Andrew Cuomo in New York's Democratic mayoral primary. “I will be the mayor for every New Yorker, whether you voted for me, for Governor Cuomo, or felt too disillusioned by a long-broken political system to vote at all," Mamdani said. "I will work to be a mayor you will be proud to call your own.” While in the photo, Mamdani is seen waving his hand to the crowd, it is not confirmed that he is giving the Nazi salute. Additionally, there are no news publications who have reported on this matter.

From my research, I can conclude that this claim is likely false considering there is no report of it from any credible news source. The original Bluesky post has been taken down, leading me to further believe that this claim is false. This post could be aimed at discrediting the NYC mayoral candidate and possibly hurting his chances at winning the election little by little. I found no primary sources to back up this claim. Zohran has faced scrutiny in the past due to his longstanding criticism of Israel and their military operations in Gaza/Palestine. One news story I did find was criticizing Mamdani and U.S Representative Alexandria Ocasio Cortez for an odd looking gesture that some people believed looked a little to familiar to the Nazi Salute. This was definitely not their intention and this post is highly exaggerated. I did learn that there have been countless attempts to discredit Mamdani by spreading false news stories and attacking his credibilty. Many people are against his NYC Mayoral campaign due to him being possibly the first ever Muslim and South Asian to become the NYC Mayor. This source may have a bias due to it being from the Hindustan times. Mamdani comes from Hindu descent and this could lead to the news source supporting him more than some other candidates. There is no evidence supporting this claim, leading me to believe that this claim is likely fake and an attempt to discredit the NYC Mayoral Candidate.
