This claim can be true and false depending on which perspective you take. While it is true that AI is making it easier for kids to cheat and not think critically as often, at the same time, AI is also helping people gain more understanding of difficult or broad concepts.

To start off with, let's talk about the negative influence of AI. According to the statistics provided by Strat Simulations, "48% of students use ChatGPT for an at-home test or quiz, 53% had ChatGPT write an essay, 22% had it write an outline for a paper (not technically cheating)". These are examples of negative reliance of students using AI; they don't think seriously about the test or essay and turn to AI for a fast and easy solution. This is also stated by the University of Illinois, " if AI is used to complete assignments or exams or write papers, it is unfair to the students who don't cheat, and it undermines the education and learning process for those who do cheat". With these implications in mind, there is definitely a negative side to students having access to AI for schoolwork.

On the other hand, AI is not entirely detrimental to students' use. For example, teachers can use AI to assist them in their workload. Since they have so many students to keep track of on top of making lesson plans, AI is a helpful tool. This can be further supported by the American Psychological Association, "educators are increasingly relying on AI such as Curipod, Gradescope, and Twee to automate certain tasks and lighten their workload...That includes generating new ideas for lesson plans and activities, writing parent-teacher letters." AI can also be beneficial to students when they don't quite understand concepts in class. from the University of Illinois, "Image-generating AI tools such as Picsart and Visme can turn complex concepts into more readily accessible content." This can really aid students who learn more slowly or have a harder time understanding concepts.

In conclusion, AI in classrooms can be thought of negatively or positively depending on the perspective.

This claim is far too broad for there to be a chance in affirming or disproving it. How is AI being used in school? Is it implemented by the teachers? Is it used unguided by the students? What kind of AI are we talking about?

There are various approaches being tested on this topic.

1. AI cheating

This is what most people think of when it comes to the usage of AI in school. There's an MIT study which shows us that using AI assistance in writing an essay (which most teachers would consider cheating) offloads a lot of our cognitive work to AI, leading us to learn much less than if we were to use Google search to help us write or write without assistance. This kind of AI use is demonstrably bad.

2. AI tutors

This is an example of AI being useful for learning. There have been approaches that have been studied, such as RAND's report on the effectiveness of personalized learning. It shows that students with personalized learning show results in mathematics and reading that exceed of those found by students in the majority of schools, and that the rate of growth was particularly pronounced among previously underachieving students.

Ultimately, whether or not AI inhibits learning entirely depends on how it's been implemented and utilized. Without further clarification on the meaning behind AI usage in schooling, this claim is neither true nor false.

Saying that “AI is bad in school” doesn’t really show the full picture nor is it really valid to say as a statement like that. The article that supports ai that i found: “The Benefits of AI in Education” from CIS Spain (https://www.cis-spain.com/en/blog/the-benefits-of-ai-in-education/) explains that AI can actually make learning a lot better. It helps personalize lessons so students can learn at their own pace. It also makes education more accessible by giving students everywhere, no matter where they live or how much money they have, access to good learning materials.

AI also helps teachers by handling boring administrative tasks so they can focus more on teaching and working with students. Plus, it gives students instant feedback so they can see what they’re doing well and what they need to work on. The CIS Spain article says that the key is using AI in a smart and balanced way—not replacing teachers, but helping them. So instead of being “bad,” AI can actually be a really important tool that makes learning more personal, efficient, and fair for everyone.

Although AI might have some bad effects in some ways, saying a broad statement that is not really defined in any way is not valid at all. Many people have started using AI in all sorts of areas for school, including starting research. It gives lots of good benefits, and can be fought either way with many different opinions, and can even vary with students and teachers. They're pros and cons with AI becoming a bigger involvement in schools everyday.

AI use in school is bad for students this claim is true. Students using AI can inhibit how much they learn in school. From StratX I have found that over 50% of students using AI use it to cheat on their tests. And another large number use Artificial Intelligence to write their essays. Students using AI on their assignments causes the students to not learn the material and just copy and paste something on the internet. the source STRATX also says that it causes students to lose engagement on thier assignments and in their classes "The reduction in face-to-face interactions can and will negatively impact learning, making it tricky for students to grasp concepts and comprehend what they're learning."  I also found anotehr source from the pew research center sayinng that AI does more harm than good in schools.Pew. Therefore I think that AI overall has a negative impact on students and using AI in schools is bad because it fails to teach kids necessary strategies to learning and progressing in life.

After investigating this claim, there is no factual evidence proving that using AI in schools is entirely “bad.” The effects of AI depend on how it is used, not on the technology itself.

According to a 2023 UNESCO report, AI can support personalized learning, help students with disabilities, and assist teachers with grading and administrative work. Similarly, the World Economic Forum states that AI can free teachers’ time for creativity and human interaction.

However, there are valid concerns. The Guardian (2024) and Education Week warn about data privacy issues, academic dishonesty, and overreliance on AI tools like ChatGPT. These problems show that AI can be harmful when used without ethical guidance or supervision.

In conclusion, this claim is misleading. The use of AI in schools is not inherently bad—it depends on regulation, teacher involvement, and ethical use.

This claim can be both true and false because the use of ai in schools can be bad but there are also ways it can be beneficial to students. According to a survey done by Pew research center, "A quarter of public K-12 teachers say using AI tools in K-12 education does more harm than good. About a third (32%) say there is about an equal mix of benefit and harm, while only 6% say it does more good than harm. Another 35% say they aren’t sure".  Coming from teachers themselves, who are some of the most reliable people to ask when it comes to what is good or bad in schools, more of them say that its an equal mix of "benefit and harm" than those who believe it does more harm.

According to an article by National Institutes of Health, "AI-driven educational tools influence students’ mental health and emotional well-being in higher education through both benefits and drawbacks. Positively, these tools offer personalized learning experiences, reduce stress by allowing students to progress at their own pace, and improve accessibility to mental health support via chatbots and virtual assistants. AI also promotes inclusivity by accommodating diverse needs, such as assistive technologies and 24/7 academic support. However, over-reliance on AI can lead to digital fatigue, technostress, and anxiety over data privacy concerns. While AI can enhance well-being by reducing academic pressures, its associated challenges require careful management". AI can have both positive and negative impacts on student's and their education and so I'm saying this claim is false being it is not only bad but can be both.

The use of AI in school can be both beneficial and disadvantageous. AI is beneficial to students when used to summarize information and inspire creativity. It can also be used to personalize learning, provide students with accurate feedback before submitting an assignment, and suggest a vast amount of resources (https://education.illinois.edu/about/news-events/news/article/2024/10/24/ai-in-schools--pros-and-cons). Some of the negatives towards using AI include bias, academic misconduct, and the possibility of inaccurate information. When used correctly, AI can be a helpful tool for students, stimulating academic conversations and opening new paths that someone might not have thought of. So, to answer his statement, AI in school is only "bad" when used incorrectly.

The claim that “the use of AI in school is bad” is too general to be fully accurate. After researching credible sources, I found that AI in education has both advantages and disadvantages. Reports from education experts show that AI can personalize learning, assist teachers with grading, and make education more accessible for students with disabilities. These findings are based on research from universities and education organizations that study the impact of emerging technology in classrooms. Primary studies on AI in education have also found that these tools can improve student engagement and support diverse learning needs when used responsibly.

However, there is also evidence that supports concerns about AI use in schools. Researchers and teachers have raised issues about privacy, data bias, and overreliance on automated systems. Some educators worry that AI might reduce critical thinking and encourage cheating if students rely on it too heavily. Reports also point to challenges such as high costs, lack of teacher training, and unequal access to technology. While some sources focus on the risks, others emphasize that the problems often come from poor implementation rather than AI itself.

In conclusion, the evidence undermines the claim that “AI in school is bad.” The research shows that AI can be helpful when paired with strong ethical guidelines, teacher oversight, and clear learning goals, though risks like data misuse and academic dishonesty remain. The most accurate conclusion is that AI in education has both benefits and drawbacks, and its overall impact depends on how responsibly schools choose to use it. Therefore, the claim is partly false.
