Mamdani dislikes Israel and will not advocate for Israeli New Yorkers. It is found that Mamdani is a supporter of Palestine and refuses to accept Israel as a legitimate state. This article also notes that he has more than once accused Israel of genocide and he had outwardly been in support of the boycotting of Israel. It is clear that his hatred will be transferred to his motives as Mayor and the Israeli citizens will be forced out of the city because of his dislike for them.

This statement is exaggerated/misleading. New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani has been critical of the State of Israel, saying that Israel was committing genocide in Gaza and is an apartheid state. However, saying that Mamdani "loathes and demonizes" Israel is exaggerated and misleading. During the mayoral debate, Mamdani said that he had denounced Hamas "again and again". Mamdani condemned war crimes by Hamas on October 7th while also condemning "genocidal war", occupation, and apartheid perpetuated by the Israel state. Overall, Mamdani has said that he disapproves of any country that exhibits discrimination upon a certain group of people, saying "I'm not comfortable supporting any state that has a hierarchy of citizenship on the basis religion or anything else, I think that in the way that we have in this country, equality should be enshrined in every country in the world."

The Times of Israel article linked above in an Op-Ed with a clear strong bias in favor of Israel, and more objective sources should be used if one were to try to back up the original claim.

After fact-checking this claim using the SIFT method, it seems partly true but also misleading. The Times of Israel article is an opinion piece, not a neutral news report, so it reflects the writer’s personal viewpoint, not facts. It’s true that Zohran Mamdani has criticized Israel’s government, used the word “genocide” to describe the situation in Gaza and has been open about his support for boycotting Israel. But there’s no evidence that he “hates” Israel or would harm Israeli or Jewish New Yorkers, the only thing we have to go off are his remarks and others opinions. Other reliable sources show that Mamdani’s criticism is directed at Israeli policies, not necessarily individual people, and he has never claimed he will push individuals out of the city. The article exaggerates his views and turns them into claims about future actions, none of which are supported by facts.
