In the midst of a government shutdown, the Trump administration has threatened to halt/reduce food stamps. However, a federal judge ruled that benefits must continue to be fully funded. In response, the Supreme Court temporarily passed the order while the Trump administration appeals. The US Department of Agriculture threatened financial penalties on state that do not comply with government order. SNAP benefits are so important to so many Americans, and the state of Oregon is working hard to find ways to feed Oregonians.
