The claim that the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles will 'prioritize' women's events is not the entirety of the story. Women's track will be running three events on the opening day of the Olympics rather than its usual maximum of two. Additionally, the mens 100 meter has been moved to the second day (which gets less viewership) and women's events will be played during better times of the day that have increased viewership. Though this is a major step forward for women's athletics, men's events will still be played during many of the prime time viewership windows but better shared with women. There is a more fair mix of male and female events rather than pushing female events to late/early windows that less viewers are available for like they've done in the past.

Additionally, prioritizing women's sports doesn't just mean they are giving them better viewership hours. The Olympic Committee is taking steps to make women's events more fair. They are reportedly going to ban biologically male athletes who identify as female from competing in women's events. This is due to trans athletes dominating women's sports in the past and having an unfair advantage over biological women who have dedicated their entire lives to the sport. Because of this, the Olympics Committee is exploring ways to gene test athletes.

I would say this claim is misleading because "prioritizing" means that one would be more important than the other and the other would be pushed aside but that is not the case at all. Available information on the Olympic Games Schedule shows that the organizers are mixing and adjusting the women's schedules to give women's events more coverage and viewership. I believe this reflects as rather gender equity and audience balance so rather than replacing men's events. Men's events will still be covered and be a huge part of the Olympic games. I would say that the Olympics may want to highlight women's sports more compared to last few years ago, but not that they want to prioritize women's sports over men's overall.

The claim that the 2028 Olympic games will prioritize women's sports over mens sports is completely false. What is actually happening is the Olympics Committee is just putting more focus on evening the amount of focus on both mens and women's sports. I categorize this as false but it also falls into the Misleading category. According to the Fox News article as well as another article I found written by Awful Announcing, in an attempt to get women's events viewership up the Committee is for the first time putting some of the major women's events in prime time slots that in the past have been occupied by the mens sports. This does not mean though that women's sports are more of the priority. The mens sports will still have the same hype around them and be viewed the same, it's just this time around they are really trying to have the focus be on the games as a whole not just the mens side of it. So although I categorize this as false to which it is, it is also very misleading because to say women's sports are being "prioritized" is a huge stretch and is not the case in the slightest.
