Larry Bushart, a 61-year-old man, was arrested for posting a meme of Charlie Kirk following his assassination. The Facebook post quoted Trump saying "we have to get over it" after a 2024 school shooting in Iowa. He was arrested after refusing to delete the post with a 2 million dollar bail.

According to this article by the Washington Post, Bushart had shared over 100 political posts on Facebook. Local deputies went to Bushart's home at night investigating the posts. After denying they were threatening and inviting investigators to take a look themselves, Bushart was arrested on September 22nd. Officials recently dropped charges on October 31st, although they did not state a reason.
