Officials from the Trump administration met Wednesday with a GOP lawmaker to discuss a House vote to release Justice Department case files relating to Jeffery Epstein. Karolina Leavitt acknowledged the meeting that same day, using it to show the transparency of the current administration, yet refused to go into detail about the meeting. The meeting included Lauren Boebert, a GOP Rep that has been pushing for the release for some time.
The effort is in motion after receiving the 218th and final signature from a newly democratic member of Congress. While Epstein seems to be a major topic discussed in the meeting, sources say other matters were also discussed. Multiple republicans signed onto the motion, including Nancy Mace, who sent a direct message to the president explaining her decision was because of a statement she made prior. As well as the meeting, emails from Epstein's estate were released that morning, which Leavitt claims “proves nothing”.
The files remain unreleased but hold years of information regarding the child sex trafficking claims and could even have information not yet obtained by the house.
