The longest government shutdown in US history came to an end on Wednesday night, after six House Democrats joined the Republicans in order to pass a funding package in 222-209 vote. Once the bill was passed, President Trump came to the Oval Office to sign. There were 6 moderate Democrats who voted yes, Jared Golden of Maine, Marie Gluesenkamp Perez of Washington, Adam Gray of California, Don Davis of North Carolina, Henry Cuellar of Texas and Tom Suozzi of New York.
Many of the 'yes' voters proved to want to end the shut down because they were bigger than this, and these people realized that they had a job to do and people to care for. But now Democrats are dealing with infighting after eight Senate Democrats and the six House Democrats broke their ranks in order to end the government shut down, without a deal on ACA subsidies.
