Many social media posts claim that the IRS is sending a $1,702 relief payment in November 2025. Some of these posts even include fake documents or images that appear to be official. The claim seems believable because people are familiar with stimulus checks from the COVID-19 period.

By looking on the IRS official website and many trusted news media sites, there is not a new relief payment. Fox 5 Atlanta and some other local stations stated that the payment is false and is a scam. The IRS further urged taxpayers to not respond to such claims and provide personal information. This claim is false and likely spreads because people want financial relief and scammers use that to trick them. Be sure to always verify financial claims through official government websites before believing or sharing them.
