The Epstein files supposedly have Trump's name in them according to multiple democrats and democratic media coverage. Many are speculating whether this is true now because of the new information that he is not in them but only knew of the sexual abuse.

Overall, this statement is misleading.

According to the Wall Street Journal, in May 2025, Attorney General Pam Bondi (and her deputy) informed Trump that his name appeared multiple times in DOJ documents related to Jeffrey Epstein. Although the content was not focused on Trump's inclusion, it is unknown whether he participated in Epstein's sex-trafficking regime. Furthermore, newly released emails (via Epstein’s estate) show correspondence where Epstein mentions his relationship with Trump. Yet, frequency alone doesn't mean there is concrete evidence. Many of those mentions appear in repeated or publicly sourced content (e.g., quoted news articles), not necessarily in new documents.

Your source, The Washington Post, is considered highly credible by mediabiasfactcheck.com. It does report a left-center bias, which is relevant given that the article is about a highly conservative president. The Washington Post is also said to have mostly factual reporting. The New York Times also has an article reporting on the same occasion. The Washington Post also uses quotes directly from Epstein and Trump, which makes the story very viable. The New York Times includes quotes from Karoline Leavitt, the white house press secretary, about their interactions. She states that the Epstein emails are there to smear Donald Trump.

This statement is misleading since in the Washington post, it does not clearly mention how Donald Trump is mentioned in the Epstein Files. The post gives some broad information about this scandal. The article mentions how an email Jeffery Epstein has sent mentioning how Trump has spent hours with an alleged “Victim” in a room together. This Washington post had comments about this article and many mentioned how the article was biased towards Trump and how the article wrote how Trump is not an offender.

I looked into this email by reading multiple articles from different news outlets such as NewYork Times, CNN and, NBC.

NewYork Times wrote “Mr. Trump knew more about his abuse than he has acknowledged” after mentioning the same email Washington Post covered.

CNN mentioned the same email but wrote how the Trump administration and the White house has denied all claims and stated President Trump has not done anything wrong.

NBC also mentioned the same email and wrote “The White House and Republicans on the House Oversight Committee said Wednesday that Giuffre’s name was the one redacted in those emails. Giuffre, who died by suicide this year, did not accuse Trump of any wrongdoing.”

I think that the claim was misleading and by analysing many of these articles I can see how many of these medias are biased towards this topic but in a nutshell, Trump was in a room with a Victim for hours but was proven to be innocent.

From doing more research, I can conclude that an article does state the exact thing. He knew about the sexual-abuse but did not participate.

According to an article from MSN, Epstein says that Trump knew about the sex trafficking but never participated in it. Later on in the article Trump says that him and Epstein both like beautiful women on the younger side before they had their falling out. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/epstein-wrote-that-trump-knew-of-sexual-abuse-but-didn-t-participate/ar-AA1QiD2O

However, it is still unknown if whether he did participate or not due to the release of some files with redacted names.
