Shohei Ohtani and Aaron Judge both had amazing seasons this year in professional baseball. Shohei has been amazing the moment he entered the league, posing as a two-way threat. Being able to pitch and hit is something that has not been seen at the professional level since Babe Ruth in the early 1900s. The value that he adds to his team is one that is not matched by any other player on the planet. He is known as a threat both at the plate and on the mound.

Aaron Judge has also been one of the best players in the league since he was a rookie in 2017. Since then, he has yet to have a season with less than 30 home runs a year while also maintaining a good batting average. Back in 2022, Aaron Judge hit 62 homeruns in order to break Roger Morris' long standing record of 61. He is a phenom and one of the greatest hitters the game has ever seen.

This article claims that they both won the MVP award this year.

This claim is true. According to multiple sources, including the MLB, ESPN, and NBC News, Dodgers hitter Shohei Ohtani and Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge both took home the most prestigious baseball awards this year. This is Ohtani’s fourth career MVP award, which makes him the second player with the most MVPs. Following Ohtani, it was Kyle Schwarber from the Phillies, placing second in the NL, and Juan Soto from the Mets, placing third. As for Judge, this is his third AL MVP win, standing with other prominent Yankees players who are three-time winners as well, such as Joe DiMaggio, Yogi Berra, and Mickey Mantle. Judge provided lots of positive comments on his win, saying: “‘It’s mind-blowing from my side of things, because I play this game to win, I play this game for my teammates, my family, all the fans in New York’” (NBC News). Although Judge won this year, Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh ran close behind him for the race to the AL champ, with 13 votes (Judge won 17, earning him his win). Judge also took the time to praise Raleigh, calling him a “‘special player’” after getting to know him at this year’s All-Star Game (NBC News).

This claim is true, according to the official MLB website that holds the records of who has won MVP through out the years, their website has Aaron Judge listed as winner as the most valuable player in the American League (one half of the MLB) and Shohei Ohtani listed as the most valuable player in the National League (the other half of the MLB). Because it's MLB's official website, this claim is true.

If MLB's official website wasn't enough, ESPN, one of the most reputable websites for sports also have the same information listed. With Aaron Judge the winner of MVP in the AL and Shohei Ohtani as the winner in the NL. ESPN is known to most as THE sports network (at least in America) therefore, if they have this information posted, it has to be true and valid.

With a reputable source such as ESPN and also the information coming from the source of the MLB in general, this claim has to be true.

Both Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani were MVPs in the MLB for this 2025 season according to the claim made. The article details how Ohtani won MVP for the National League while Judge won MVP for the American League.

I went on to research the claims and found information on the official MLB website. It restates the claim given that both Ohtani and Judge had won MVP in their respective leagues. The article by the MLB also provided detailed information on the voting and the battle Judge fought to win the AL MVP. The claim is true Ohtani and Judge are both technically MVPs.

Yankees outsider, Aaron Judge and Dogers hitter, Shohei Ohtani both had an incridible run in the 2025 season. in hit 55 home runs, he led the MLB with 146 runs, and had 20 stolen bases. Judge took home 53 home runs, 114 RBLs and was the first in the MLB to have an OPS of 1.144.

When researching the claim, I found that According to sources like CNN, MLB, and ESPN have evidence to support that Judge and Ohtani both took the win for the 2025 MVP award making this claim true. Ohtani has now made history by becoming the second player ever with 4 MVP awards and Judge following not too far behind with 3 MVP awards on his belt. This makes them top two in five of the most recent MVP races.

This statement is true. While there was much discourse at the time of the award announcement as to whether Cal Raleigh could win the award over Aaron Judge, now that the season is over and the voting has been finished, we can say beyond a shadow of a doubt that Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani both won MVP
