Overnight at least 6 have died after Russia launched a military strike against energy and residential targets. A total of 25 areas were struck in the attack leaving major cities without power, including the capital city of Kyiv. Ukraine claims a total of 450 drones and 45 missiles were launched, with 406 drones and 9 missiles being taken down. Russia claims the attacks were merely aimed for the military and were not meant to affect residential areas and civilians.
Although, attacks on critical resources ahead of winter are now a common part of the ongoing war. Ukraine ministers claim Russia isn’t just trying to send a message and break morale but also send the country into an economic collapse. Experts say this fourth winter at war will display the strength of Ukraine’s “defensive resilience”.
