The article by UCR says that scientists are using technology to look at how bleaching effects coral reefs on the cellular level in order to further their understanding of the effects and therefor come up with more possible solutions to bleaching.

After looking more into this, i’ve found the claim to be true. researchers have been been making 3D printed coral reef structures that mirror the shape and texture of these real reefs which gives the larvae somewhere to grow.https://www.nationalgeographic.com/science/article/3d-printed-reefs-coral-bleaching-climate?utm People are also using AI to analyze these huge underwater images so that they can monitor the health and progress of these things over time. https://www.frontiersin.org/journals/robotics-and-ai/articles/10.3389/frobt.2022.884317/pdf?utm Though it is true that we are developing and actively working to get these coral reefs repopulated and brought back to life, this is a work in progress that will take many years to perfect and produce on such a large scale- this is really only the beginning.

The claim I chose is “scientists are using technology to try and rebuild coral reefs. This claim is written by Percy Pritchard, their username is wisteria777 and their claim is true. Not only is the source they got and provided their information from accurate but also trustworthy. Their claim also provided how testing would be done which is by using bleach on the cellular level to help the scientists understanding. Some sources I found on scientists testing coral reefs talked about how important it is that these environments stay healthy and how they can provide that safety for them.

NOAA website talks about restoring coral reefs. A way scientists restore coral reefs is by, “simple growing, gardening, and out planting to harvesting millions of naturally produced eggs and sperm to create millions of new genetic individuals”. https://www.fisheries.noaa.gov/national/habitat-conservation/restoring-coral-reefs

Another website I found that more specifically talks about the technology that scientists use is by a website called The World Economic Forum. They explained, “But we have the science and technology to enhance coral resilience, forecast degration and scale restoration”. https://www.weforum.org/stories/2025/06/why-saving-the-worlds-coral-reefs-is-a-generational-responsibility/

Overall, I believe that this claim is very true and provided a great sources to but up their claim.
