This claim has been circulating on TikTok and different sports outlets after several, high profile field storming incidents this football season. Many posts make it seem as if the NCAA had already finalized a nation wide ban, and that every school would be punished with major fines/ forfeits. Due to field storming being a big part of football culture, especially at Oregon, this grabbed my attention quickly. After checking official statements from the NCAA, I found that while they are considering implementing stronger regulations and deterrents, no finalized rule exists that fully "bans" rushing the field after a win. Independent conferences like the SEC have introduced their own harsher penalties but this is not a NCAA wide mandate. Overall, this claim is misleading as it exaggerates the certainty and scale of the rule taking early discussions and portraying it as confirmed policy.

This claim is misleading as the NCAA had discussed stronger regulations around storming the field after multiple high-profile incidents this season. Officials have explored safety measures and potential deterrents, but no nationwide rule has been proposed or approved. Some sports post and TikTok's suggest that the ban is finalized or already set for next season, but that is untrue. The SEC however has adopted stricter penalties such as $500,000 fine, this is an example of a conference-level decision, not NCAA-wide mandates.

I really like how you use both perspectives and a counterargument perspective to make your claim more reasonable and reliable.

The claim of the NCAA banning field storming outright is slightly misleading. Though some high profile incidents have occurred post game when fans of either institution decide to storm the field there hasn’t been a definitive rule put out by the NCAA. Each conference in their own respects have implemented some of their own rules or fines. The ACC has come out with some reworking on the rules as it leaves other spectators or fans of the opposing team time to exit and leave the stadium before any fan conglomerating occurs. “ it will change the tradition’s timing by providing a window for the visiting team and other personnel to safely exit the field before fans enter the field.” Statement from Clemson football regarding the “gathering at the paw” this slight adjustment of the rule I feel is an accurate depiction of how some other conferences have implemented this idea. Regardless field storming will probably never end so it will be up to each school how they handle it.
