Following the increased ICE activity in America over the last few months people started circulating claims and videos online that the Mexican president, Claudia Sheinbaum, was involved in inciting some of the anti ice protests that took place in Los Angeles. Spreaders of this rumor used a video of the president from before the protests even started and claimed she was attempting to incite violence among the protestors. This video was circulated around many conservative dominated sites such as X as well as many Russian owned sites such as Rg.ru where it got millions of views.

Supporters of this claim argue that because immigration policy affects both countries Mexico would want to influence protests within America to serve Mexican interests. This, however, appears to be false with all of the claims about Claudia Sheinbaum being supported by either no evidence or irrelevant evidence that was taken out of context.
