Reporting confirms that a Ukrainian drone attack on the Russian city of Ryazan in May 2026 killed several people and injured others, including children. Reuters reported that the strike damaged two residential apartment buildings, and the drone debris fell onto the grounds of an industrial facility. Russian regional governor Pavel Malkov states that at least three people were killed and 12 were injured. Reuters later updated reporting indicated that four people had died from the attack.

When investigating the source, the claim comes from a social media post on Bluesky rather than an official statement, news organization, or verified investigative source. The phrase “Ukraine is a terrorist country” is not a factual determination made by international courts or legal bodies. While Russia’s Investigative Committee reported having opened a “terrorism investigation” after the Ryazan strike, that reflects the government’s characterization of the attack, not a legal ruling.

Overall, the factual portion of the claim about the Ryazan drone strike is supported by credible reporting, though the casualty numbers changed as more information emerged. However, the statement that “Ukraine is a terrorist country” is not an objective fact and should be understood as a political opinion or wartime accusation rather than a certified conclusion.

After looking at the original post and researching for articles regarding this claim, it seems to be true. In an article I found, it stated that there were 4 who were killed in the drone attack located in Ryazan, Russia on May 15. Ukraine's drones had killed four people, including a child, in the city of Ryazan. The drones had also damaged high-rise apartment buildings and an industrial enterprise in the process. Ryazan's governor, Pavel Malkov, said that 99 Ukranian drones were involved in an overnight attack on the region. Additionally, I also found out that Robert Brovdi, who is the commander of Ukraine's drone forces, said that Ukranian drones had struck a large oil refinery in Ryazan.

After searching up the claim to be fact checked, I found the source below. The site describes the incident more in detail and talks about the fatalities and injuries from the drone attack. The website also provides an image of active smoke coming from the building that was struck by Ukraine's drones.

The evidence that supports my claim is the information provided in the website by US News. In the article, it states, "Pavel Malkov, the governor of the Ryazan region, said 99 Ukrainian drones had been involved in the overnight attack, that two high-rise apartment blocks had been damaged, and that debris from falling drones had landed on the territory of an industrial site, which he did not identify. Twelve people had been injured, seven of whom were being treated in hospital, he said."

Overall, this piece of evidence supports the claim made in the fact check regarding how 3 people had been killed, and 12 had been injured in the drone attack in Ryazan, Russia. Malkov, the governor of the Ryazan region, gave a brief summary of the incident and what happened. This proves the claim to be true and gives it more credibility.

The claim "Three people were killed and 12, including children, were injured in drone attack in Ryazan. Two multi-story residential buildings were damaged, and the wreckage of the drone also fell on the territory of an industrial facility." seems to be mostly true based on the article from EUToday. The article says "three people were killed and 12 injured," which matches the numbers in the claim. It also says "two high rise residential buildings were damaged," and "drone debris fell on the territory of an industrial enterprise." These details are basically the same as the original claim saying that two residential buildings were damaged and drone wreckage landed at an industrial facility. The article also talks about possible environmental problems after the attack. It mentions, "Residents reported a strong smell of chemicals and visible soot settling across parts of the city," and "There has been no official laboratory confirmation." Overall, the claim is mostly true because the main details are supported by the article. The report confirms that three people were killed, 12 injured, residential buildings were damaged, and drone debris landed near an industrial site. Some of the environmental concerns mentioned later in the article are less confirmed, but the original claim itself matches the information reported by the source.

Your claim has some truth to it but some of the information is a little misleading. While the Reuters article does confirm the attack, the death total is much higher than stated. Your post also excludes the fact that the strike set a massive fire at an oil refinery, covering the city in soot.

I also disagree with you calling Ukraine a "terrorist country" as that is an opinion, not a fact. The attack came right after Russia had invaded Ukraine, where Ukrainian death's were largely due to Russian military actions. Both sides of the war have civilians as casualties of war, so framing only one side as a "terrorist" is very misleading.

The claim that three people were killed and 12 were injured in a drone strike in Ryazan, Russia is true.  According to Reuters, the governor reported that 99 drones attacked the region, killing four people including a child and injuring 12 people, with seven being treated in the hospital.

According to my sources, the claim that three people died and twelve got hurt, including kids, from a drone strike in Ryazan is mostly right. They say, “Three people were killed and twelve injured,” which lines up with what the claim mentions. Plus, two apartment buildings took damage, and bits of the drone ended up close to an industrial spot. The story goes on about possible environmental problems too. Folks smelled chemicals and saw soot around the city. Still, no lab proof exists just yet from official sources to back these worries up. To sum it up, the article backs the main points in the original claim – the casualties, the broken apartments, and where the drone pieces landed. Although we're not sure about the environmental stuff for now, it looks like the critical parts of what was said first are legit.
