Did Rihanna grab her crotch and smell her fingers or were the motions just dance moves during her performance?

Many people online and those quoted in the Daily Mail article believe that Rhianna did in fact smell her crotch. One person stated, "Low energy and disgusting. Why did she grab her crotch, then smell it!! Horrible show for our kids!". Yet, others attribute this to a dance move. She is in fact doing the "smelling" move when the song "Kiss it Better" started to play. This could explain why she moves her hand to her mouth, to reference kissing. We will not know more until Rhianna's team comments on the situation.

Yes, she did grab her crotch and smell it but, it should also be perceived as a dance move not, a way to check her hygiene in that moment.

But since she is on the Super Bowl stage she is getting any and all contraversy even if its from a dance move that is to be "too sexy" for a Super Bowl halftime show

Rihanna has actually done dance moves like this at previous concerts. This particular half time show was no different. The link I've posted below is just an example of some of her crotch grabbing. Maybe she did happen to sniff her fingers, but it was just a part of the dance choreography. While maybe not appropriate for a halftime show with kids and their families watching, it's something she's been known to do, so not surprising.
