According to the article "Has Bill Gates Advised Eating Crickets to 'Stay Healthy'?" author Tom Norton says that "the claim that Gates has recommended eating crickets "to stay healthy" has not been verified." So, we cannot say for sure that Bill Gates said people should eat crickets.

However, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has provided funding to companies developing insect-based foods and associated technologies. Norton said that "In 2021, the foundation provided more than $2.2 million to Insecti Pro Limited, "to establish a commercially-viable business for sustainable insect production for food and feed products in East and Central Africa." In 2012 it also granted $100,000 to All Things Bugs, LLC to "develop a method for the efficient production of nutritionally dense food using insect species."

Nice work finding a fact-check on the claim and noting that Gates has made contributions towards insect food production. Don't forget to add a rating to your fact-check like true, false, etc.

This actually hasn't been verified. Reddit also isn't the best source to get news from. The post doesn't have a reference to where Gates said this. It's just meant to be a joke about his appearance. This is also under the conspiracy tab so it's a sign that this most likely isn't accurate.
