Nowadays, more and more young people are suffering from hair fall problems. Baldness has become a hot topic. According to the link below, combing the hair acts on the capillaries of the scalp and increases blood circulation. So it has the effect of renting hair growth.

According to Robotic Hair Restorations, combing your hair does not contribute to hair loss if you do it right. It is normal to shed 50-100 hair strands a day. "Incorrect brushing can definitely cause breakage, which makes your hair volume appear thinner. That is because even if the follicle was untouched, the broken hair shaft decreases the overall appearance of your hair’s fullness and volume."

According to the Chicago Hair Institute and Dr. Raymond Konoir, brushing is good for your hair, until it isn't. While proper combing and brushing your hair can "stimulate regular hair growth and a healthy head of hair," improper brushing can lead to hair damage. For example, pulling or tugging when brushing can cause split ends and cause damage to the scalp. Wet hair is the most sensitive to damage so it is also bad to brush wet hair. Additionally, most hair loss is genetic and even if you brush your hair properly baldness can still occur. So, while brushing your hair can help with hair loss, it has to be proper brushing, and even then genetics can still cause baldness.

If properly used- yes.

Doing something as simple as just running your fingertips along your scalp and/or massaging you scalp can promote hair growth. Since a comb is functionally similar to this scalp massage then it can help your hair grow, however only if it is used mainly on your scalp, as combing long hair which hangs off your scalp will not provide the same stimulation as the aforementioned finger scalp massage. However the way the question is posed makes this a difficult question to answer directly, as it entirely depends on the method/comb you use on your head.

In response to the frequency of combing, this also varies on which type of hair you have. For example, someone with entirely straight hair, 1c, will have little to no difficulty running a comb through their hair (granted it is properly cleaned and taken care of). Whereas someone with 4c hair, tightly curled, will have issues constantly combing through their hair as it would be non-beneficial and damaging.

This is an interesting take on the claim. So brushing your scalp, more than the hair strands itself, can improve growth. I like that you included two sources.
