This statement is not true or false. This statement is opinion based therefore it does not have one correct answer. According to the Smithsonian Magazine, Velveeta used to be its own company. In 1927, Kraft food purchased Velveeta which means that Velveeta is now technically also a kraft product. In terms of nutrition, 1 cup of Velveeta is less calories and more protein than Kraft which some may consider to be better. According to www.nutritionix.com, 1 cup of Velveeta mac and cheese is 361 calories, 11g total fat, 18mg cholesterol, 51g carbs, 2.6 g dietary fiber, 3.5 sugar ad 15g of protein. Kraft is 376 calories 16 g of total fat, 5.9 cholesterol, 47 carbs, 2.4 g fiber, 8.5 g sugar and 9.7 protein. In my opinion Velveeta has more nutritional value because it does not use powdered cheese and you do not have to add butter or milk.

Thanks for adding so many details about Velveeta's history and also looking at the nutrition of each cheese -- interesting!

I grew up thinking that Velveeta was the most unhealthy Mac n' Cheese brand, but this proved me wrong. Thanks for detailed nutrional info.

Velveeta is a product from the Kraft company. Whether or not which cheese is better is based on one’s own preference.

Velveeta comes from the Kraft company. In my personal opinion, I believe that Velveeta is better because the cheese is not a powder. However, it's based on one's preference. According to the food rankers article, regular Kraft mac and cheese is ranked number 5 while Velveeta is ranked number 2. However, Kraft is said to be healthier than Velveeta but its one's preference.

This cannot be true or false, considering it is an opinion.

It should also be noted that both Kraft and Velveeta are made by the same company, Kraft Foods. The difference between the two products is that Kraft mac and cheese is traditionally cardboard-boxed with dried macaroni pasta and a packet of orange processed cheese powder. Whereas Velveeta cheese has a liquid creamy squeeze cheese rather than powder.

With that being said, it is up to one's own personal preference for the type of cheese they prefer. Personally, I prefer the squeezed cheese, so I would say Velveeta. That is just my opinion though, and cannot be proved "to be better" unless a large survey was conducted to find consumer preference.

This claim can neither be true nor false because it is a personal opinion. Kraft manufactures Velveeta, which doesn't answer the question but should be noted. I personally like both and can't choose.

This is purely an opinion. It is up to the individual to decide whether they like Kraft or Velveeta more. They are both owned by Kraft Foods. They hold their own similarities and differences, but there is no way to prove that one is better than the other.

This statement is all opinion and therefore cannot be proven true or false. Also, the mac and cheese Velveeta was created by Kraft Mac and cheese. The statement does not make sense.

So Velveeta is actually under Kraft's Company according to the Smithsonian magazine. However, the magazine also gave insight as to why Velveeta was created, which could be part of the explanation as to why people prefer the two types of mac and cheese. According to the magazine, the creators of Velveeta were addressing a problem people face, which is when the cheese melts, it can become imperfect, where it pools oil and coagulates quicky. While you can try and avoid this with younger cheese or a less fatty cheese, Emily Frey, a Swiss cheesemaker, made Velveeta, "a cheese named for the fact that it melts so smooth."
