  1. According to an article by Livestrong.com, overconsuming nuts can lead to weight gain. According to the National Institutes of Health, one can overeat Brazil nuts which contain high amounts of selenium, which can lead to other side effects.

This is true, and interesting to me because I didn't know this prior. According to seed guides, "An overdose of selenium can be toxic and can cause brittle and white nails, hair fall, fatigue, rash, irritability and stomach upset. Brazil nuts have been found to consist high amounts of aflatoxins, which are carcinogenic, hence European Union has placed strict restrictions on import of Brazil nuts."

Consuming anything too much will cause health issues not only for nuts, according to university hospitals  "More importantly, eating too many nuts can actually lead to food toxicity which can range from mild symptoms to severe illness. In addition, many nut varieties contain the amino acid L-Arginine, which can cause mouth ulcers if you over-indulge."

but we should also keep in mind that nuts itself is a health food and eat them regularly would be good for health.

Eating too many nuts can lead to food toxicity. According to Hospitals.org,  "Because they are such a nutrient- and calorie-dense food, portion control is essential to avoid excess weight gain. More importantly, eating too many nuts can actually lead to food toxicity which can range from mild symptoms to severe illness."

This source was used within the claim itself. It's best to dig deeper and find a reputable source that hasn't been used within the claim next time. Thanks!

It is true that eating too many nuts can lead to an overdose. However it is more likely that one suffers from weight gain. Although it is possible, I believe that the claim can be somewhat misleading. Yet, it does stand true that it is possible to overdose from consuming too many nuts.

However, when it comes to specifically Brazil nuts, overdosing is more of a risk. According to Livestrong, "The main adverse effect of overeating nuts is the possibility of weight gain. Don't eat too many Brazil nuts because their high selenium content may give you a toxic dose of the mineral."

According to The Times of India, it is possible to overdose on Brazilian nuts. We should not eat too many nuts in one go - consuming too many nuts can be hazardous and has been linked to weight gain and disease.

However, according to the research by MCBI, a moderate amount of nuts is beneficial for humans. It's all about balance.
