This video is misleading and manipulated content. This video has been edited and altered with editing software to make Taylor Swift look as if she is holding a sign stating, "Trump Won, Democrats Cheated" at the 2024 Grammys. The original video was posted by Variety on X https://twitter.com/Variety/status/1754308552317976807. In this video, you can clearly see that Swift is wearing black gloves and there is no poster in sight. In the edited video, Swift is no longer wearing gloves and her hands are holding up a fake banner. It is important to note that the edited video was posted by @PapiTrumpo on X. In the biography of this account on X, it states that some of the content shared is "a little bit of parody." This account is pro-Trump and edited the original to make Swift look as if she is advocating for these pro-Trump ideals. After taking a deeper dive, Fox News, The Hollywood Reporter, and People magazine all shared videos and photos of Swift walking down the red carpet at the 2024 Grammys. In each of these videos and photos, Swift is seen without the banner. Therefore, the video has been manipulated with the intent to spread disinformation.

This video seems to be altered and is very misleading and is manipulated content. The video posted to X from an account called il Donaldo Trump posted this video of Taylor Swift from the  Grammys this year. This video shows Swift on the red carpet at the Grammys and she is seen holding a flag that states "Trump won, Democrats Cheated." 

But this video on this X account shows the variety logo in the top right. So I went to the official website for variety and found the original video of Swift on the Red Carpet.

Clearly in this video she is not holding the flag that the il Donaldo Trump account claimed that she was holding at the Grammys. Also while fact checking this, in the bio of the account it says "The Biggest Most Beautiful UNFILTERED Commentary, Straight from the Hearto of IL GREATEST PRESIDENTO THAT EVER LIVED!!!" but also long with this statement they add, (And a little bit of parody...) So clearly they are like a parody page.

Also here is another video of Taylor Swift on the red carpet, this is the same video but it from the Grammy Awards website, and still not a flag in sight.

The content that was posted is an altered content. The link to the post directs people to a twitter account under the username of PapiTrump. This signifies few things, it is not a reliable source of news since it's by an account on twitter and not a trusted source and secondly it's probably biased towards Donald Trump given the username and the content they post. With more research it can be concluded that the original content was posted from variety focusing on Taylor's red carpet outfit rather than her supposed flag. In the original content from Variety, she does not have anything in her hands and definitely nothing related to Donald Trump. Aside from those sources, if we trace back to the 2021 election, she was seen supporting Joe Biden, even featuring on his instagram account. That photo was not altered since Taylor herself posted it on her instagram and was posted on Joe Biden's official account.

The X.com account that posted this video of Taylor swift with the flag, @PapiTrumpo, specializes in “unfiltered commentary, straight from the Hearto of IL GREATEST PRESIDENT THAT EVER LIVED!!!(and a little bit of parody…)” according to a direct quote from their account bio. They admit to including parody in their posts and have a large following of Trump supporters and individuals who want to see him succeed in this presidential race as well as people who enjoy political pop-culture parodies. At the bottom of this response I have pasted a link to the original video posted by Variety’s account of Taylor Swift on the red carpet at the Grammys, with no sign of an artificial intelligence generated flag. I have also pasted a link to another angle of Taylor Swift on the red carpet published by Vanity Fair, again showing no evidence of her holding a flag at all. The video has already been flagged by X.com as “manipulated media” which will hopefully defer people from believing the tampered video is true.

This is completely false and altered. During the Grammy's when she was taking these pictures she was holding nothing and this video has been altered using AI. I found a real video from the Grammy's YouTube channel of what actually happened and you can see nothing is happening, it's just here taking pictures. Also, from the magazine, Vanity Fair, you can see the pictures that came from that moment and there is no flag or anything. This is clearly altered and fake.

This video has been altered. For starters, the video's use of Photoshop is obvious. The flag is a fixed image that is never in motion. Furthermore, the hands' lighting isn't accurate to real life. Additionally, halfway through the video, the entire image vibrates, making it evident that the hands and flag image were placed over the original footage. You can also see on the post that twitter is even warning viewers that this photo is false. I feel that Twitter should make it harder for people to get verified accounts cause, for other platforms, a verified account means it some what of a relable source, but X has no real reason to get verified.
