It's likely that this assertion is untrue. An official from MGM Resorts International claims that the accusations are wholly untrue and lack any foundation. The claims originate from an unidentified source that was reported in a NewsNation article. Representatives for Mars declined to respond when Variety questioned them about the claims, only citing the MGM representative's statement. We are limited to examining the claims made by each of the various representatives and parties because this narrative is still evolving.

This claim is not true. On March 14, NewsNation made claims that Mars had a gambling debt of over $50 million at MGM, with a large amount being paid off from his residency at Park MGM in Las Vegas. They also made claims that Mars "makes $90 million a year off of the deal he did with the casino, but then he has to pay back his debt… after taxes (Mars makes $1.5 million per night).” Ninety million after taxes is closer to $60 million, for those who were wondering (NewsNation). In 2016, Mars announced his partnership with MGM which led to his Park MGM residency and his Pinky Ring cocktail bar at Bellagio Resort & Casino, which opened in early 2024" ((People)A representative for MGM Resorts International told Variety, "From his shows at Dolby Live at Park MGM to the new Pinky Ring lounge at Bellagio, Bruno’s brand of entertainment attracts visitors from around the globe. MGM and Bruno’s partnership is longstanding and rooted in mutual respect. Any speculation otherwise is completely false; he has no debt with MGM. Together, we are excited to continue creating unforgettable experiences for our guests.”

This statement is likely to be false. According to a representative from MGM Resorts International, the allegations have no substance to stand on and are completely false. The allegations come from a NewsNation article where they cited an anonymous source. When Variety ask representatives for Mars about the allegations, they denied to comment, only referring back to the comment made from the MGM representative. This story is developing so we can only look at the statements from what each of the respective representatives and parties have to say.

Great fact check! Way to bring in sources and add more information to the claim at hand.

This is an excellent fact check.

Upon my own investigation, I found an article from Business Insider which indicated that this allegation is false-

I found another article, from the Las Vegas Review Journal, which reassures that MGM and Bruno Mars have "mutual respect" within their business relationship

According to multiple recent sources, this claim is FALSE. According to TMZ, a representative for MGM resorts international came in defense of Bruno Mars to clear the rumor that he owed around $50 million in debt to the casino. In another article covering this story, Forbes details that it was the senior vice president of public relation for MGM Resorts International who cleared the air for Mars, and even said that they have a “longstanding and rooted in mutual respect” partnership.

This is a well done fact check. A good analysis of the claim and the use of two quotes.

Recent reports debunk the rumor as untrue. TMZ mentions a rep from MGM Resorts International stepping up to dismiss talks about Bruno Mars being $50 million in the hole with the casino.

It's interesting that you say it's likely untrue while MGM says there's no foundation to the claim. Shouldn't it be entirely untrue? Thanks!

It is likely that this is untrue. This post was taken from NewsNation article where a source made this claim. A source from MGM came out and said that these claims are untrue and do not have any evidence to justify them. Bruno Mars's team has declined to comment. There is not a whole lot of information besides the source from MGM

You mention "a source from MGM..." but you didn't include where the information was taken from or a source link. Don't forget to include URLs to all your sources going forward. Thanks!
