True. According to the Haitian Times, the claim is true. The newspaper stated that "Many Haitians in Springfield, Ohio, are feeling physically unsafe as racist falsehoods spread online and offline. Meanwhile, the parents of a child killed last year by a Haitian immigrant said politicians like Trump should stop using their son for political gain." It is worth noting that one Haitian resident interviewed said he was looking to relocate out of Springfield.

Great selection of quotes. I’d also like to link to this PBS audio piece, which does a great job recapping and contextualizing this truth: https://www.pbs.org/newshour/amp/show/how-life-in-springfield-has-been-disrupted-by-lies-about-its-haitian-community

A really signifcant quote to me: “Hate groups like the Proud Boys have also been marching through the city. Residents last week found these fliers from a group affiliated with the Ku Klux Klan saying that Haitian immigrants in Springfield were — quote — ‘disease-ridden and filthy.’

“Partly because of these threats, the city canceled a 20 year tradition in the city, its CultureFest. That's been canceled now. And there is an anti-immigrant march scheduled for the end of the month.”

This claim is true. As stated by the Black Information Network news site, Haitians in Ohio were under attack after Donald Trump made claims that they were abducting and eating pets but this rumor was debunked by the Springfield Police, saying that they have never gotten any reports on people stealing and eat other peoples animals.
