This claim is true. The initial claim of the article is that the United Kingdom wants to ban all energy drinks for kids under the age of 16. This is generally true and at the heart of what they're attempting to pass in the United Kingdom, however, what is happening is they're restricting the purchasing of drinks with more than 150 milliliters of caffeine to those 16 and older. That means drinks such as Coke, Pepsi, Dr. Pepper, etc. would all be unaffected by the restriction as their total caffeine values are much lower than the 150 milliliter limit. The claim "Energy drinks will soon be regulated in the U.S." is true, because of increasing support in the United States for regulation over potentially harmful substances, as well as previous attempts to pass legislation before there was as much support. With more and more studies providing evidence for the dangers of consuming energy drinks, pressure will increase on politicians to pass legislation protecting children from potentially harmful substances, as they have done in the past for substances like alcohol and tobacco.
