This is an opinion not a fact. But a very valid opinion and I wouldn't mind if it was considered a fact.

This claim is definitely an opinion so it is difficult to find facts about this, but there are reasons as to why they tend to be very aggressive and territorial. A lot of it can deal with poor training on the owners part because they don't feel as if they are threatening due to their size. There are a lot of other factors but this seems to be the biggest one.

This response is good because it acknowledges the opinion-based nature of the claim about chihuahua aggression, making it clear that definitive facts might be hard to find. I like that you got straight to the point in your response and it sounded educational.

This is an opinion and a strong one nonetheless, however, it could be taken literally as a statistic. According to American Kennel Club, they ranked 32nd most popular out of 200 making it seem to the general public that they are the 32nd best dog breed.

This leans way more on the side of opinion rather than fact. When regarding a breed of dog, whether you like it or not, it will always be an opinion. There is a good and bad with every dog breed. I personally have never met a mean Chihuahua, so I love them and see this post as false. To strengthen your claim, I would suggest finding a source that’s trustworthy.

I agree completely with this however it is sadly an opinion chihuahuas can not be proven to be the worst however they may be studies you could have used in this to show their aggressiveness compared to other dogs. Which could help the argument, other then a thread on neogaf.

This claim is obviously an opinion and cannot be fact checked. As an attempt to give an understanding as to where the American population stands in regard to chihuahua's, I looked at Most Popular Dog Breeds of 2023 - American Kennel Club. This ranked Chihuahuas as the 32nd most popular dog breed among Americans out of a list of 200. That to me shows they aren't the worst but again that is an opinion like this claim. Also, the source provided isn't even an article, it's a forum where someone was complaining about Chihuahua's. Hardly a reliable source.

Thank you for brining it to light that this is an opinion based claim. Excellent job using the American Kennel Club since it is an advocate for purebred dogs. I am aware of people who just do not like chihuahuas in general and think they are always annoying. I found an article that recommends that chihuahuas - like all other dog breeds - are only bad if the owner themselves, are bad dog owners. I fully agree that this clearly an opinion based claim.

Im very glad that someone could bring out the fact that this is an opinion based claim. I do believe however in your response the American Kennel Club mostly advocates for purebred dogs you could include a reference to those in shelters too, where a large number of them have been neglected. All in All though, I believe it was a really good comment.

(POST 1/2) This claim that ‘Chihuahuas are the worst’ is very opinionated and broad. In the link presented in your post is from the website NeoGAF, which is a public internet forum where users primarily discuss video game topics. The user who posted the claim goes by ‘Two Words,’ so their identity is anonymous. There is no credibility within the individual and their claim. Two Words claims that Chihuahuas are stupid, aggressive, and needy. This is much more of an opinion rather than a fact. Since this post does not have any examples or facts to back up these assumptions, it is impossible to confirm it. There is not such thing as the ‘worst dog’ since all the factors that make people perceive a dog breed as good or bad are based on personal preferences and ratings. Too add, you cannot categorize a whole breed as bad when there are so many dogs in it.

(POST 2/2) Lastly, no dog is inherently bad, it is the owners decisions and the dogs upbringing which influences its behaviors. Although genetics and environmental factors can play a role in a dogs aggressions or learning ability, owners can intentionally increase a dogs misbehavior. A study done in the journal ‘Frontiers in Veterinary Science’ demonstrated that dogs behaviors are affected by owners behaviors. The study showed that owners personalities influenced how dogs acted. For example, extroverted people tended to have more social dogs, whereas introverted individuals were more likely to have fearful or timid pets. This example shows that Two Words cannot assume that chihuahuas are the worst dog due to their personal experiences, since the specific dogs can be influenced by their specific situations.

this claim is clearly just an opinion, and its not even an opinion backed up with more feelings other than the initial claim. why are chihuahuas the worst? what makes them so bad? the link is just a chat forum of people complaining, without much substance to back up the claim that these small dogs are, in claim, the worst.

This is a opinion so difficult to fact check this. I think the best way to turn this into a fact is providing evidence based on features of the dog like health concerns, how long they live, aggressiveness towards people, etc

Chihuahuas are the worst is a fully opinion based article including no factual evidence to back up its claim therefore it cannot be true. Fact checking this is difficult without any statistics on chihuahuas or even dogs in general, this is an opinion.

This is an opinion that can't be fact checked. Facts that are used to support the opinion can, but the poster doesn't bring up any facts other than pieces of anecdotal evidence. People will have different preferences around different dog breeds. I, for example, prefer larger dogs that like to think they're still lap dogs, but that doesn't mean everyone thinks the same or that larger dogs are objectively better.

The claim, "chihuahuas are the worst," is entirely opinionated, and not a fact. Which dog breed is better or worse depends on an individuals unique preferences or dislikes to certain traits of the specific dog breed.

This is an entirely subjective statement. No dog is worse or better than the other except within other people's judgements and opinions. Chihuahuas are often branded as a hated dog breed in the media, because they are deemed as skittish, aggressive, and annoying, which are features that may cause people to turn away from them. Nevertheless, this is an opinion that cannot be fact checked.

This claim is an opinion and cannot be either true or false. This claim can also be taken in various ways, the "worst" is too broad. Worst could be taken as a physical attribute, their behavior, their size, etc. Generally, I don't believe there is a "worst" dog breed. As it is up to the owner and their preferences. If you need help finding out what dog breed will work best for you and your lifestyle, here's a guide on how to pick. (Instead of generalizing a dog breed to just preconceived notions.)

This article is misleading and expresses a person’s opinion about chihuahuas, rather than the truth of saying they are the worst bread. I wanted to look at information about how the breed is overall, compared to other dog breeds out there. According to the American Kennel Club, they are more reserved from strangers. Although, they do say that chihuahuas “possess loyalty, charm, and big-dog attitude.” They could not be best suited for young children, but they are playful and adaptable in a social environment with other people. This person’s comment was misleading in chihuahuas being the worst, although they could be best suited for different types of families that meet the physical, social, and personality traits they are looking for in a dog. Lastly, in the World News Report, chihuahuas are the most popular dog breed in the U.S., leading to many people desiring to have this dog breed. Chihuahuas are not the worst dog breed, and this claim was an opinion that is not true for many people.
