The article "The HOAX of Climate Change" calls it a political scam. Some scientists avoided the data and tried to shut down opposing views, referencing the 2009 "Climategate" controversy. It also said any warming we're seeing is just part of natural solar cycles and not because of human actions. Those claims are false because several investigations have exonerated the scientists behind those accusations, and temperature records from NASA and NOAA plainly show that the planet has been steadily warming, due mostly to human-caused greenhouse gas emissions, not solar activity.

Claim: Climate change is a hoax

The article uses little to no credible information to back up the authors opinion where climate change is a hoax. There is evidence from "NASA"  https://science.nasa.gov/climate-change/evidence/ that is scientifically proven to show how Climate change is not a hoax and is very much real. The article is false and uses unreliable evidence to prove the authors point.

The scientific data of changes in our oceans brought on by rising greenhouse gasses contradicts the claim that "climate change is a hoax." According to a NASA study, the ocean absorbs around 90% of the excess heat from global warming, which has caused sea levels to rise by more than 4 inches since 1992 and marine heat waves to become more intense. Two effects of the warmer water are ocean acidification, which damages marine ecosystems, and bigger hurricanes. Also, the thinning of sea ice brought on by rising air and ocean temperatures speeds up warming even further by reducing the amount of sunlight reflected back into space. These measured changes in ocean conditions prove the reality of climate change and its ongoing effects on our world.

The word hoax is the incorrect use of words for this. A hoax would indicate that climate change is simply unreal and something made up. Climate change is a real thing in our world, and not something made up and false, which is why the claim climate change is a hoax is simply false. There are many studies and research that shows climate change is a real factor in society.

I believe that saying climate change is a hoax is not true because the article they link is outdated and saying that climate change is a hoax is very one-sided and opinionated which makes the argument. https://science.nasa.gov/earth/explore/the-ocean-and-climate-change/

The overwhelming scientific evidence proves that climate change is real and is mostly caused by human actions such as the burning of fossil fuels. This means the article is very false and misleading. Key factors and evidence that contribute to the evidence of climate change is real. Global average temperatures have been steadily increasing over the past century, with the most recent decade being the warmest on record. Increased carbon dioxide absorption by the oceans is causing them to become more acidic, threatening marine ecosystems because coral cannot form its shell do the the chemical reaction. Climate change is also making extreme weather events like heatwaves, droughts, floods, and hurricanes more frequent and intense. The melting of glaciers and ice sheets is contributing to rising sea levels, threatening coastal communities. These factors prove climate change is real and a threat. Anything to the contrary is untrue.

This claim is false. The quote provided, "The “bottom line” to this discussion is the FACT that humankind did not/cannot impact the natural cycles of the Sun. Climate change is a political hoax with no true basis in real science/data", is a baseless claim with no actual facts provided. After reading the article, I can conclude it's false.

The article titled “The HOAX of climate change” presents a biased perspective, dismissing climate change as a political fabrication rather than a scientifically supported phenomenon. It lacks citations, relies on outdated data, and is based on opinions without evidence from credible scientific sources. For credibility, the article should add more research from trusted sources, such as studies or respected organizations like NASA or NOAA. Despite addressing a topic that requires scientific backing, the article is mostly opinion-driven.

According to a study by NASA (https://science.nasa.gov/earth/explore/the-ocean-and-climate-change/), around 90% of the extra heat from global warming is absorbed by the ocean, leading to a sea level rise of over 4 inches since 1992 and more frequent marine heat waves. Warming waters contribute to ocean acidification, harming marine ecosystems, and intensify hurricanes. Additionally, rising temperatures in the air and oceans accelerate the thinning of sea ice, which further increases warming by reducing the sunlight reflected back into space.

The article titled, "The HOAX of Climate Change" can easily lead readers astray. This article mainly relies on the idea that it is the sun's doing when it comes to climate change, simply stating that the earth has natural cycles such as the Ice Age and we go through these cooling and heating cycles. They even suggest we are going through a cooling phase currently which is being covered up by propaganda promoting climate change in order to serve political gain. They accuse politicians and scientists alike of covering up anything that doesn't line up with their view. This idea that the sun is to blame solely for our earth's extreme rise in heat is fundamentally false. In an article by the Cornell Chronicle, they state that, "More than 99.9% of peer-reviewed scientific papers agree that climate change is mainly caused by humans, according to a new survey of 88,125 climate-related studies." This collection of over 88,000 studies and research definitively suggests that humans are to blame for the change in our climate, directly linking it to the time when the Industrial Revolution started and greenhouse gas emissions exponentially rose. To say that climate change is a hoax and something completely natural would be to mislead the reader and populate a false narrative.

There are multiple sources proving this statement false. NASA, a government organization, said "Climate change has caused increased heat, drought, and insect outbreaks. In turn, these changes have made wildfires more numerous and severe. The warming climate has also caused a decline in water supplies, reduced agricultural yields, and triggered heat-related health".

It's important to state that this was letter a written to the editor. Regardless, the claims written by the author are false and unbacked by scientific evidence to the point of spreading misinformation. Major climate data sources, like NASA, show that the Earth is warming mainly because of greenhouse gases from human activities, and not changes in solar activity. Despite the letter's claims, the scientific consensus is undeniable. Climate change is real and largely driven by humans.
