Her article claims that drinking chia seed water has instant health benefits like helping immensely with gas and bloating, improved digestion, blood sugar control and enhanced hydration. Amanda Beaver, a wellness dietitian at Houston Methodist says it is best to gradually increase your intake of fiber and if you add lots of fiber to quickly into your diet it can cause gastrointestinal issues such as bloating, constipation or gas. Beaver also recommends drinking chia seed water along with a meal since the action of these fibers is most efficient when we eat them with a meal. The third thing Beaver emphasizes is that chia seed water cannot sit out too long because it can cause a food-safety risk. In conclusion, it is true that drinking chia seed water has health benefits.

This article is from a blog post and the only research provided is what the benefits have been in her life. This source itself doesn't provide any factual evidence that drinking water with chia seeds with benefit your health however, there are several reputable sources that found that drinking chia water can improve your health but there hasn't been any formal research done. Though this article states a true statement of chia seed water being beneficial, from a writer that specializes in health and wellness, it doesn't give her article enough credibility that states factual health benefits. Likewise this article provided by the National Library of Medicine, https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9834868/#:~:text=Chia%20seed%20components%20are%20helpful,and%20provides%20bulk%20to%20stool. states that the components of chia seeds "aid the human body against different chronic diseases." which supports the claim the chia seeds themselves do provide benefits and aid general health. Furthermore the article states that in GI-related diseases the chia fiber reduces the blood glucose level which helps moderate diabetes.

I found it valuable that you provided a credibility check to the article and focused on highlighting what could have been done better. By providing a source such as that of the National Library of Medicine, which a highly factual resources, you emphasized that the statement is correct. I would highlight that though the format of the article lacks the factuality the author McCallum is a reliable communicator on the topic as her Linkedin shows her qualification on the topics and the publishing company is a well respected source. A variable that I believe came into play into communicating the topic is that it was published more as a blog than an article as it has that casual straightforward tone to it.

Chia seeds have been a very popular dietary addition in recent years and I have personally seen a lot about their benefits on social media like instagram and other platforms. According to a Houston Methodist article about chia seeds and chia seed water, the nutrients responsible for the benefits of chia seeds are viscous fiber (which is good for heart health), omega-3 fats (type of healthy fat that most Americans don't get enough of), and antioxidants (anti-inflammatory). Based off of the website that I have looked at and others that exist this claim is true, but I would not have used a blog post, where there is no factual evidence, to back this claim because it is just one persons experience and it could be different for other people.

Thank you for the further clarification on the website referenced. It's good to see what individual people think but also good to consider that one person's experience does not dictate what the majority of people may be experiencing. It would also be beneficial to see if there is any evidence provided by some sort of credible group or individual regarding the chia seeds.

When looking into this article I found it to be focused on her personal experience with chia seeds. She had a great experience and explained the many benefits in her daily life which included more energy, less bloating, and improved blood sugar levels. She states aspects of chia seeds that are healthy for your body but I do not feel that this article is enough to back up the claim. There is no scientific evidence. When looking further into this claim I found a reliable source from Harvard.

This article provides an expansive list of all the health benefits of chia seeds, as well as characteristics of chia seeds. Chia is high in fiber, omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants, and much more. One part of the claim that I was unsure about was the "instant" health benefits. After doing further research I believe they have instant benefits of making you feel full, but the true health portion comes with time.

This claim is slightly exaggerated but overall is true. Health.com provides a lot of information about chia seeds and chia seed water. If you include chia seeds into a well balanced diet, you can see health benefits such as improved heart health, reduced inflammation, and improved blood sugar control. There isn't a ton of research done on the impacts of chia seed water, but a lot of similar reports mimic whats expected from chia seed water. If you want to start drinking chia seed water, research it first. There are a few steps like the preparation, storage, and uses in diets that can effect the results you see.
