Multiple major news outlets reported Trump had met with Putin following the election and asked him to not further escalate the war on Ukraine. They discussed having a goal of peace in Europe and Trump reminded Putin of the U.S. military presence in Europe. Trump's team would not confirm or deny this claim.

I found the same claim from the Washington post. Even though the original claim is from fox news, I found it at https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2024/11/10/trump-putin-phone-call-ukraine/ and https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024/nov/10/trump-putin-ukraine-war

President-elect Donald Trump has not physically met with Vladimir Putin following the election, however, according to multiple sources familiar with the matter, the two had a phone conversation where Trump advised Putin to avoid escalating the war in Ukraine. Trump also mentioned hopes to have more conversations with Putin in the future.
