It is clearly written with bias, making statements like “The Biden-Harris Administration has used the immigration court backlog as an excuse to allow even more aliens to remain in the country,” but it also lists extensive sources and data including tables from the US Department of Homeland Security and direct quotes from the Department of Justice’s Executive Office for Immigration Review that states that there were 109,809 of the these cases completed without a final decision from a judge. The original article from The Washington Examiner also lists many facts and statistics, such as the number of undocumented immigrants that were permitted to flee the country, that don’t seem to be tied to a specific source. Additionally, the article doesn’t directly connect the issue to any actions coming from Biden or Harris, other than the overlap in timing. After looking into information about the author of the article, Anna Giaritelli, I found that she is a reporter specifically for The Washington Examiner(a very conservative news source), that focuses mainly on writing about immigration. Because she essentially focuses her writing on right-wing immigration perspectives, it makes sense that the article is a bit biased and anti-immigrant. I was not able to find any other news outlets that wrote about this situation, although there are articles on similar topics such as a PBS article on Biden’s policies trying to keep undocumented immigrants in the country if they are married to a citizen. From all this information combined, I can conclude that this article is definitely factual and backed up with legit data, but may be framed with a biased perspective with more conservative views that are anti-immigrant.
