The reason why I am curious about this is because as an oregon resident, I kept my eyes on local elections, and the AP called Janelle Bynum being the winner of the district that was formally represented by Lori Chavez-DeRemer, which made me curious when I saw this article, because trump has not yet became President, even though he is currently the President Elect, I wasnt sure how sure this claim was, espically considering the other picks for cabniet that we have seen thus far.

Yes, this claim is true and Lori Chavez-DeRemer will in fact be the next head of the department of labor. While Trump isn't president yet, he can still appoint people to his cabinet.
