This statement is widely regarded as true.

This article bases some of its claims off of actions on Wall Street, using raising bond rates as evidence that many people believe inflation and interest rates will raise. It's hard to dispute the claim made, because it states that his plan "COULD" lead to higher interest rates. This is ultimately true, because it's impossible to predict the future and in that sense, anything "could" increase interest rates.

As far as tariffs raising consumer prices, this will likely happen. Trump's plan is to increase tariffs in an effort to bring manufacturing jobs back into the national economy, and minimize the amount of reliance on other nations. This will result in an immediate increase in consumer prices though, because international producers will have to pay more to ship their product, meaning they will raise the price to counter the increase in taxes.

I appreciate your observation about the language used in the claim giving plausible deniability to its validity. That being said, it would give your answer more credit if you pulled on additional sources as your claims use definitive language. Perhaps a past precedent as an example or an economic report beyond the initial claim source.

This is a decent fact check; however, it fails to pull any additional sources other than the one already being questioned. For a question regarding politics, sourcing only CNN (a notoriously left-wing news site) is not the best idea. This fact check would hold more validity if it was backed up by claims from other organizations.

Your fact-check offers a strong argument but could improve by referencing economic studies or reports regarding the connection between tariffs, consumer prices, and inflation. Although the reasoning that rising production costs result in elevated prices is sound, citing expert evaluations or historical instances of tariff effects would bolster your arguments. Also, your observation regarding the use of "could" for potential future situations is correct but could benefit from insights from economists or policy specialists to ensure a well-rounded viewpoint.

I think this fact-check is appropriately concerned with the wording of the claim. The notion that tariffs “could” increase rates is a plausible one, but nothing any fact-checker can with full certainty predict in advance. I strongly feel this is an adequate and accurate fact-check.

This answer is well written and it does raise a good point on being concerned about the language of the claim. However, I feel it could improve if it was backed up with sources to support it's ideas.

I believe that this statement is true. Trump has promised to impose tariffs on Mexico, Canada, and China in 2025 when he is inaugurated, which can increase consumer prices. Tariffs raise the cost of imported goods by requiring the companies that import these goods to pay additional fees. It is also very possible for the Federal Reserve to stop cutting rates or raise them in response to inflation due to tariffs. With all of this known and historical information being taken into account, consumer prices can raise.

In this factcheck, you haven't cited any sources that back up the claim, you start with giving your opinion. The factcheck could be improved if you are able to produce some sources that support your answer. I do think you have good information in the factcheck but it is important to know where your information is from.
