However, reading through the whole article, it is clear that the author truly did their research and brings up many flaws with some of the studies that may be responsible for leading others to believe drinking cold water is harmful. The article brings up a few instances in which drinking cold water could be more harmful than choosing to drink warm water, like in cases with those who have achalasia and it may slow down gastric motility, but these are special cases, or they do not have so much of an effect for it to be considered harmful. Overall, the article concludes that drinking any temperature water will be beneficial for many and generally disproves this misconception. Additionally, VeryWellMind is a reputable source and any quick Google search will bring up many articles that disprove this same rumor.

This fact check is pretty good; however, next time I would include sources to support why you think this claim is correct. It also seems that you have a contradicting opinion on whether this claim is true or not. With that being said I will attach a couple of websites that go more in depth on the effects of drinking cold water and how this can either benefit or worsen your health. Overall, before doing a fact check on a claim I would do more research so you can back up your statements.

Like you, I was suspicious of this claim. All the sources I found said that cold water is good for you. There are some risks in people with specific medial conditions, or there have been studies that have shown some people experienced headaches after drinking cold water, but for the most part that is it. Cold water is not bad for you, if anything its good for you.

There is no strict evidence pointing to the fact that drinking cold water is bad for your health, but there are certainly a few issues with it. It is somewhat common for people to have digestive or stomach issues after drinking cold water. It may also cause headaches or migraines or 'brain freeze' from too much consumption of cold water. Although there is no strong evidence that there any long term health issues with drinking cold water, it is certainly possible that it can cause people minor issues shortly after consuming.
