Numerous national and international scientific organizations have issued statements affirming the reality of human-caused climate change. Organizations across the world concur with this observation such as the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) that provide governments at all levels with scientific information that they can use to develop climate policies. The IPCC fifth assessment report stated, “Human influence on the climate system is clear, and recent anthropogenic emissions of green-house gases are the highest in history. Warming of the climate system is unequivocal, and since the 1950s, many of the observed changes are unprecedented over decades to millennia.”
Furthermore, you have American Association for the Advancement of Science, The American Geophysical Union (AGU), the American Meteorological Society (AMS), The National Academies of Sciences of major industrialized countries, and many others that research is pointing towards the same thing, the earth is warming and we are having an impact on speeding up that process. They found that “The global average surface temperature reached 1.1°C above 1850-1900 levels in 2011-2020 and has continued to rise.vi The 10 warmest years in the 174-year record have all occurred during the last decade (2014–2023) with 2023 being the warmest year.” It may not seem that much but with ecosystems being easily disrupted impacts to vegetation, crops such as those in China that is mentioned in research by Cook et. al. (2014), animals, and insects in the ecosystem could be devastating which would eventually impact mankind.
