Mitch McConnell is still very much alive, and was fighting with Rand Paul over the language of an agricultural funding bill as recently as last Tuesday (8/26), and was recently interviewed with the Lexington Herald-Reader, which was published today (9/2). Further, no major news outlets have reported on his death.

Your answer to this claim is very direct and appropriate in answering the claim, as you provided instances that would prove McConnell to still be alive currently. Including links to further information is also appreciated, as well as broadly noting that no mainstream news sources have reported on his death.

This claim is false. This claim is linked to a post on Bluesky, in which the post is of a screenshot of an article claiming Mitch McConnell died. However, there is no other link or source information for where this screenshot comes from. While it does include authors, the article can not be found upon searching on the internet, or tied backed to the authors. Furthermore, upon searching any google search relating to Mitch McConnell being dead, it will immediately come up that he is still alive. Despite this being a claim from a few months ago, recent articles reporting on him can back up the fact that he is still alive.

A recent ABC New article writes on an appearance Mitch McConnell made at the capital last week at the Capitol (10/16/25). It about Mitch McConnell falling in a hall in the Capitol. "Republican Sen. Mitch McConnell, 83, fell to the ground in a Capitol hallway Thursday afternoon as he made his way to Senate votes."  The article also notes some of McConnell's previous health issues, but despite of them he is still very much alive.  https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/sen-mitch-mcconnell-falls-capitol-hallway/story?id=126586619

A article from the New York Times and also writes about his recent fall, and despite it, the senator did not require medical attention. It also notes that Mitch McConnell plans to retire in 2027. https://www.nytimes.com/2025/10/16/us/politics/mitch-mcconnell-fall-capitol.html  It can also be noted that McConnell is still active on twitter, having posted recently, and his profile on congress.gov notes his life as being from "1985-Present" as of today. https://www.congress.gov/member/mitch-mcconnell/M000355
