American Airlines shares the government's shutdown is "unacceptable", especially when it comes to air travel. Over this past weekend flights were getting canceled left and right and many people weren't able to travel. Not only did flights get canceled but airline employees aren't getting any pay for the work they are doing. Employee shortage led to flight cancellations. They don't want to work if they aren't getting paid. The cause of this is simply because of the government shutdown.
American's mainline and regional operations had nearly 57,000 delay minutes which impacted nearly a million passengers. They doubled down on security, as they don't have as many employees working they need to be extra careful. American Airlines has heard that there are being steps taken when it comes the government shutdown ending.
