X's AI chatbot Grok, the AI-search engine Perplexity, and Google's AI summaries all provided false information in the aftermath of Charlie Kirk's assassination. A number of false claims were circulated on social media. This was the work of AI chatbots such as Grok, which misidentified the suspect responsible for Charlie Kirk's death before the actual suspect was released.

They also spread false rumors, saying things like Charlie Kirk is still alive or mislabeling information surrounding his death as being false.
