Last year in the final weeks of Bidens term, the US received information that Israeli solider were using Palestinians as human shields during conflict. Of course, any usage of human shields in war is illegal internationally. The information suggested that Israeli soldiers were sending Palestinian citizens through tunnels lined with explosives. This wasn’t the first time this issue had been discussed regarding Israeli soldiers, as the US already had evidence and claims that they were using human lives to save their own. As well as that these actions were orders being given by higher ranking military members.

The source of the information did not specify if the Palestinians in question were civilians or prisoners, and has requested anonymity. In a statement however, the Israel Defense Forces denied the claims saying they are against the act and act in accordance to international law. This is the one of many war crimes the Biden Administration had gathered information for against Israel. Is Israel is found guilty of these crimes, the US could be held liable as well.

The claim that U.S. intelligence uncovered Israeli soldiers using Palestinians as human shields is based on credible reporting, but important details are less certain than the post suggests. A November 2025 Reuters investigation reported that U.S. intelligence gathered information in late 2024 showing Israeli officials discussing sending Palestinians into Gaza tunnels believed to be lined with explosives, an act that would violate international law if done to civilians. However, the intelligence sources did not specify whether the Palestinians involved were Civilians or detainees, which is a major distinction under international humanitarian law. The Israeli Government denied the allegations and stated they prohibit using civilians as human shields. Additional outlets such as The Times of Israel, independently reported on the same Reuters findings, reinforcing that the U.S. did review intelligence on this issue in the final weeks of the Biden administration. Reuters also noted that U.S. government lawyers ultimately concluded the evidence did not prove Israel had committed war crimes at that time, meaning any suggestion that the U.S. could be held liable is speculative. Overall, the core claim is grounded in real reporting, but the post overstates the certainty and leaves out key Details.

An article I found by "The Guardian" contains testimony from Israeli soldiers, in which they explain "Mosquito Protocol" in which a Palestinian is sent through Hamas' tunnels with an Iphone and a vest to record and report back to the Israeli military. Like the Reuters article The Guardian doesn't specify if the the "Human Shields" are civilian or prisoners. It also lacks implications for the U.S.
