Wisconsin is currently the top-producing state in cranberries.

"In Wisconsin, the largest growing State, production is forecast at 4.3 million barrels, up 3 percent from last year." - USDA Economic Research Service

The 2022 cranberry crop is estimated at 7.44 million barrels, and Wisconsin is forecasted to produce 4.3 million barrels just under 60% of the nation's total cranberry production quantity.

After looking at the reliable website https://www.wiscran.org/cranberries/ I found that in Wisconsin cranberries are grown on 21,000 acres of land in 20 different counties. "The sand and peat marshes in central and northern Wisconsin create the perfect growing conditions for cranberries". There is also a youtube video made by this company better explaining the centuries of cranberry farming Wisconsin has done making it by far one of biggest cranberry growing regions. Cranberries are Wisconsins state fruit for a reason because they harvest more than 60% of the country's crop.

I found information regarding Wisconin's 2021 cranberry production on Statista. Statista is peer reviewed and tester prior to publication, and is therefore a reliable source of information. According to Statista, in 2021 Wisconsin was the top producer of cranberries, producing "4.17 million barrels". Massachusetts was the second highest producer of cranberries, producing 1.8 million barrels. Based on the information provided by Statista, I would conclude that the information by Tony Evers is factual.

It seems as if this is true. Wisconsin seems to have a history of farming cranberries, dating all the way back to 1860. Cranberries are grown across 21,000 acres and 20 counties in the state. According to the Wisconsin state website the state grows "more than 60 percent of the country's crop."

This claim is true. Using the United States Departments of Agriculture's economic research service we can conclude that Wisconsin is the nation's top cranberry producer. The service states, "Wisconsin, the largest producer of cranberries in the United States, grew roughly 59 percent of the crop in 2020." Estimations fall around 59-60% of the crop produced in Wisconsin.

This claim is true. I found some information from the Agricultural Marketing Resource Center. Here is the link: https://www.agmrc.org/commodities-products/fruits/cranberries

It is a reliable site and it gives information about how,  "Wisconsin is the leading producers of cranberries, producing 59 percent of the U.S. crop in 2021." This is a little outdated, so I proceeded to find other sources that are more current and came across https://www.wiscran.org/cranberries/. This site, which is also reliable since its focus is Wisconsin Cranberries, mentions that "Wisconsin is the nation’s leading producer of cranberries, harvesting more than 60 percent of the country’s crop." If you scroll down on the page that the link directs you too, it is dated for 2023. To make sure, I did a couple more searches under "Wisconsin Cranberry Production" and numerous articles claiming that Wisconsin is the nation's top cranberry producer come up. They all confirm the same information and claim.

The claim that Wisconsin is the top cranberry producer in the United States is true. National Geographic confirms this claim, stating, "Just five states grow almost all of the country’s supply of the tart berries: Wisconsin produces more than half of all cranberries in the United States, Massachusetts harvests another third, and New Jersey, Oregon, and Washington produce much of the rest."

National Geographic has built trust as a reputable source, and also indicated locating information for its article from sources such as the USDA and the Cranberry Institute, among others.

In the United States Department of Agriculture, the National Agricultural Statistics Service New Jersey Field Office included 4 states in their Cranberry Highlights, in which Wisconsin is the highest producer at 4.7 million barrels. https://www.nass.usda.gov/Statistics_by_State/New_Jersey/Publications/Cranberry_Statistics/New%20Jersey%202021%20Cranberry%20Crop%20Forecast.pdf

The USDA Economic Research Service (U.S Department of Agriculture) confirms Wisconsin is the top producing state for cranberries.
