Putin is currently very focused on the war with Ukraine, and he hasn't stopped his fight. He's already broken multiple international laws and is clearly eager to win over Ukraine. According to ICAN, Russia has "just under 6,000 nuclear weapons - the world's largest nuclear arsenal" and he's already burned down most of Ukraine, showing that he doesn't care about the destruction that he creates and leaves behind. He is also very much against the western powers trying to help Ukraine and mentioned that the US used a nuke during WW2, which shows that he's trying to back himself and his actions in this war. In other words, he has never explicitly stated that he plans to use nukes, but there are many subtle hints that he may. This claim is therefore not checkable at the moment, and it may not be checkable without deeper investigations, as war tactics usually are not spoken allowed for the opposing side to hear. https://www.icanw.org/will_putin_use_nuclear_weapons?locale=en#

The United States has repeatedly warned that a flustered Russia may actually be willing to use nuclear weapons, and the Kremlin itself has regularly raised the specter of a nuclear strike.

Don't forget to add sources to support any information that you include in your fact-check. Something like: According to CNN and the White House transcripts, the U.S. has repeatedly warned...

Then you'd need to add the relevant hyperlinks for where you found the information.

Given Putin's current war with Ukraine, it is highly unlikely that he will use a nuclear bomb either on Ukraine or the United States as of right now. Despite the fact that he has threatened to launch them mulitple times against Ukraine, nothing has been done. This is due to the fact that it would be quite hard to justify using them against Ukraine as of now. It would be hard to justify as Ukraine is very slowly pushing Russia back. This most likely gives Putin hope he can still win without the use of nuclear missiles. If Ukraine were to suddenly start covering lots of ground and quickly defeating Russia, then that option might become more viable but that is still a maybe as it could lead to more bans on Russia with other countries. It'll be hard to tell until much later but there is high doubt that Putin will go ahead and use nuclear weapons as of right now.

Claims that are predictive in nature can't be fact-checked since no one has a crystal ball! Good job choosing the "opinion" rating for this one.
