According to online threads, breakfast was invented by cereal enthusiasts to advertise and persuade people to buy popular brands such as Kellogg's and other breakfast propaganda.

Breakfast is not a scam because it provides a number of benefits to the body:

Provides energy: Breakfast is the first meal of the day and provides the body with the necessary nutrients to start the day with energy. Skipping breakfast can cause fatigue and lethargy, and can lead to poor performance at work or school.
Improves metabolism: Eating breakfast can help boost the metabolism, which is the rate at which the body burns calories. This can help with weight management and prevent overeating later in the day.
Improves cognitive function: Breakfast provides the brain with glucose, which is essential for cognitive function. Studies have shown that eating breakfast can improve memory, attention, and concentration.
Prevents overeating: Skipping breakfast can lead to overeating later in the day, which can cause weight gain and other health problems.
Helps with nutrient intake: Breakfast is an opportunity to consume important nutrients such as fiber, vitamins, and minerals, which can help maintain good health.
Overall, breakfast is an important meal that should not be skipped, as it provides the body with necessary nutrients and energy to start the day.

According to clinical trials and research, breakfast is supposed to be the first and most impactful meal of the day.

As researched by the Better Health Channel, breakfast being the first meal of the day, replenishes our supply of glucose, boosting energy levels, and providing essential nutrients for good health. Skipping out on breakfast means keeping your stomach hungry, and you're not allowing the energy from food intake to travel through your body. Research by this institution shows, "with a higher intake of energy, breakfast eaters tend to be more physically active in the morning than those who don't eat until later in the day." Is there more to be said?

Many questions can still arise to the truth behind breakfast and it’s importance, whether breakfast is the cause of good health, or the people have healthier lifestyles. However, research has made clear that breakfast is the chance to get fuel, and replenish your body for a stable rest of the day. As stated by WebMD, skipping breakfast "can throw off your body's rhythm of fasting and eating…you'll be more likely to overeat later in the day." Now as hard as it can be for many to eat breakfast because they're rushing out the door, having food in your system long before lunchtime is important.

A healthy breakfast is always a good way to start your day. according to the BetterHealth Channel "Skipping breakfast may seem like a good way to reduce overall energy intake. But research shows that even with a higher intake of energy, breakfast eaters tend to be more physically active in the morning than those who don’t eat until later in the day." The main reason why you should eat a healthy breakfast whether it is small or large is the ability to obtain energy from that food and use it throughout the day.

No, breakfast is not a scam because eating breakfast helps with bloating! I found this out personally as someone who also intermittent fasts. According to an article from Woman's Day, "Why Am I Always Bloated?", dietitian Laura Manning from Mount Sinai Medical Center explains that skipping meals, especially breakfast, can cause ongoing bloat. This is because the stomach is searching for something to digest. When there is no food to digest, the body creates gas that leads to bloating. Manning advises that we should eat breakfast because it is important and kick starts the digestive system. It also helps prevent overeating later in the day, which can also cause bloating. Therefore, eating breakfast is not a scam but an important meal that aids our digestive system!

The claim "breakfast is a scam" is false. There are many health benefits to eating breakfast such as increased energy levels, improved ability to concentrate, better weight management, and reduced risk of certain diseases.

The second part of the claim is also false. While there is such thing as breakfast propaganda, the invention of breakfast dates all the way back to the Industrial Revolution, when people had increasingly longer work days and further formalized the idea of eating breakfast in the morning before going to work so that they had more energy and could work for longer.

Eating breakfast in the morning fuels the body and boosts metabolism. Even eating something small to get your metabolism rolling and give your body energy is enough. Breakfast is said to be the most important meal of the day. In the article "Is Breakfast Really Good For You? Heres What Science Says, "One small study from 2017 suggested that breakfast-eating could improve a range of metabolic health markers, potentially improving the body’s ability to burn fat and fight chronic conditions like type 2 diabetes" (Ducharme).

While the conversation over whether certain brands of cereal are really as healthy as they market themselves to be is a whole other debate, the importance of eating in the morning is well established and backed by science. Firstly, the concept of breakfast developed long before cereal first came onto the American market. In the article, "How Breakfast Became A Thing", author Alex Mayyasi said, "Historians tend to agree that breakfast became a daily, first thing in the morning institution once workers moved to cities and became employees who worked set schedules. In Europe, this first began in the 1600s, and breakfast achieved near ubiquity during the Industrial Revolution. With people going off to a full day’s work, breakfast became a thing". With most Americans working full time jobs or attending a full day of school, consuming a full meal before starting the day increases energy levels and concentration levels. This is because research has shown that eating breakfast replenishes the body's glucose levels after a night of fasting and boosts your metabolism.

Like most studies about eating habits, there is no definite right or wrong answer to whether breakfast is an un-skippable meal.

This website says that although breakfast "serves as an opportunity to help you fuel your day and provide key nutrients that your body needs", it also says that "if you choose not to eat breakfast, there is no reason to feel guilty, and there is not much evidence that it can negatively impact your health."

According to rush.edu, breakfast is the most important meal of the day and there is science to back up that statement. First of all, breakfast kickstarts your metabolism and helps you burn more calories throughout the rest of the day. When you skip breakfast, you are telling your body that it needs to conserve rather than burn calories. Studies have also found that people who skip breakfast tend to have a higher BMI than those who don't. Some advantages of eating breakfast that are listed on the website include, but are not limited to, consuming lend fat throughout the day, having higher calcium intake, having higher fiber intake, and having better performance.

The claim that breakfast is a scam is false.

Sharon Collison, a registered dietician nutritionist and clinical instructor of nutrition at the University of Delaware, says, "skipping breakfast is associated with increased disease risk -- not only obesity but diabetes, heart disease, and just lower dietary quality". Eating a well-balanced breakfast can contribute to burning more calories throughout the day. Also, people who eat breakfast often time are more physically active. Collison says the best breakfast includes protein, whole grains, healthy fat, and a fruit or vegetable. In addition, the consumption of a well-balanced breakfast is not related to weight gain. It is actually quite the opposite; eating breakfast helps to prevent snacking throughout the day. Therefore, breakfast is not a scam, but rather a healthy start to the day.

Breakfast is not a scam, starting your day off with the correct nutrients has numerous benefits:

According to research from WebMD, having a healthy breakfast that pairs carbs with protein has many benefits for our body. Whether you eat a small snack, or a big breakfast all depends on your lifestyle, but one thing that is worth noting is that giving your body nutrients to start the day is better than not. The reason pairing carbs with protein is recommended is due to the fact that carbs give our body and brain energy to start our day, and protein is good for our body while also keeping us satiated so we feel fueled for longer periods. Interestingly enough, Sabreena Jo, a spokesperson for the American Council on Exercise, recommends eating a snack before you exercise. She says that it helps fight fatigue and improve performance. The reason she doesn't recommend a full breakfast before exercise is because our bodies are unable to digest while we are exercising, so full meals are not ideal. One thing is certain, beginning our day with fuel helps increase our ability to function, and promotes wellbeing. Regardless of lifestyle, it is important to eat early on because our bodies are better off when they receive proper nutrition.
