All the media outlets besides Forbes say that it "appears" they are engaged or there's an "apparent engagement." Maybe Forbes is making an assumption and doesn't have verified information except the Instagram photo which is a bit vague?

Based solely off Millie Bobby Brown's Instagram in which she is hugging her partner with what looks to be an engagement ring on her finger, the caption reads, "I've loved you three summer snow, honey, I want 'em all", It would appear that she is engaged. Her now fiancé Jake Bongiovi posted two photos of the couple on instagram with the caption "forever." While neither of these posts blatantly state they are engaged, Millie's best friend Noah Schnapp shared her post to his Instagram story, with text on the photo stating, "My best friend is engaged." Coming from the best friend of Millie, it's pretty safe to say her and Jake are ready to tie the knot.

There has been many speculations that Millie and Jake were engaged. 

According to BBC News and Millie's instagram post, the couple is engaged. Millie posted on her page a picture of herself wearing a ring with a caption including lyrics of the Taylor Swift song Lover and a white heart.
